Report: Injury Sidelines Hawks' Claxton For Season

Speedy Claxton, who signed a four-year deal worth $25 million with the Atlanta Hawks in July 2006 and is facing microfracture surgery, will miss the rest of the season due to an injury to his left knee according to a published report.

Claxton is "contemplating his next step" and hasn't made a decision about whether or not he will have the surgery that could help extend his career the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The injury could mean he's played his last game in the NBA.

"This is something you have to think through before doing anything one way or the other," Claxton told the paper about the possibility of surgery.

Two Men Arrested In Carjacking Of Hawks' Williams

Two suspects were arrested and will be charged with carjacking Atlanta Hawks' forward Shelden Williams at gunpoint.

The men have been accused of five armed robberies near Atlanta and are being held at the Douglas County jail, police said Monday. They are to be charged in Fulton County on Williams' carjacking but first must answer to the charges in Douglas County.

The suspects were identified as Bernard Moss and Darius Mathis, each 18 with Atlanta addresses. They appeared in court Monday.

Williams was approached by two men outside a barber shop Saturday afternoon. One man pulled a gun and demanded the player's car keys, Fulton County Police spokesman Gary Syblis said. Williams was not injured, and he gave officers the license plate number. Police said his car was substantially damaged.
