The Orlando Magic enjoyed success in the first game of the 2009-10 season after a summer full of roster changes.

Orlando got key contributions from newcomers Jason Williams, Matt Barnes and Brandon Bass.

"Successful organizations just don't pick players willy-nilly," Coach Stan Van Gundy said.

"After you make changes, you don't know what's going to happen until you step on the court," point guard Jameer Nelson said.
