Barring some unforeseen magic, the Celtics are unlikely to land Thunder forward Joe Smith through a trade.

While the Celtics would likely be interested in signing the veteran, an NBA source said Oklahoma City has no interest in buying him out of his $4.7 million contract.

Because the Celtics have three players with max contracts, it would be extremely difficult to make a trade for Smith.
