Sam Cassell plans to become an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics after playing one more season in the NBA, according to Baltimore Sun.

"This is my last year playing with the Celtics," Cassell, 38, told a reporter. "Next week, I'll sign the contract."

After that, he plans to exercise an option to join Boston's coaching staff. "I am playing this year," Cassell said. "After that, I have the option to do coaching for them."
