Will Daniels is one of the cleverest scorers in the draft and could become a second round sleeper.

He has an excellent change of pace dribble with great control. His handle and body movements breaking people down with that handle is like a popper’s and is extremely difficult to defend.

Daniels also brings those sorts of movements when he is in the post. He is able to make little turnaround jumpers and fadeaways here. He really is able to drift away from his man substantially on his fadeaway. Daniels utilizes a reverse pivot well and makes solid pre-dribble moves.

He will sometimes get the ball out in front of him and his man before putting it on the floor to give him an extra edge when penetrating.

He is extremely strong with the ball when finishing lay-ups and can practically carry defenders to the bucket. He has tremendous body control against contact.

Daniels ends up on the floor on drives as much as Dwyane Wade, and in this case I consider it an attribute.

He needs to do a better job of recognizing the second/help defender when he takes the ball to the paint.

When Daniels pulls up for a jumper off the dribble, the entire floor is moving towards the bucket, and he stops in place beautifully. He shoots it better when dribbling left.

He gets the ball almost to the back of his head on his perimeter shot and has a little catch or hitch when he triggers it back forward. He is able to shoot over people and goes straight up with his follow through. Daniels uses a ton of lower body in his shot, and his range extends to the NBA three.

He shot 41.8% from 3-point territory as a junior, and his shot mechanics were far better than they were as a senior. That hitch he had a senior wasn’t nearly as pronounced and he put great rotation on the ball; a readjustment could improve that 36.0% he shot last season.

I don’t expect him to miss very many uncontested 3-pointers.

He is not going to blow anyone away with his leaping ability and sometimes struggles to dunk, which is frustrating because of how skilled he is at getting to the rim.

He is an impressive grinder on the offensive glass and does a great job of swiping the ball out of the air cleanly.

Daniels won't be a lockdown defender but has a good motor and plays the passing lanes really well.

He won’t be an option for any team in the first round, but I would be surprised if he isn’t on an NBA team this November.
