Can you believe reports that the Patriots cheated against the Jets on Sunday, using cameras to spy on New York during their victory? I can believe they would do something like that, but I don’t understand why they would. They didn’t need an unfair edge against the Jets, having Tom Brady and Randy Moss on offense seems to be advantage enough.

The Pats cheating against the Jets is like Hugh Hefner cheating on one of his many beautiful girlfriends. How can you get any better?

An NBA Trade: The Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers announced a four-player swap on Monday. The Nuggets sent forward Reggie Evans and the rights to Ricky Sanchez to the 76ers in exchange for Bobby Jones and forward/center Stephen Hunter. I think Billy King was smart to acquire a player like Evans for his frontcourt, even though a lot of people consider Reggie to be a tad overrated. The trade works well for both teams, with Denver taking on some shorter contracts in Hunter and Jones. It’s not a very exciting deal, but it’s a trade nonetheless. Let’s make some more!

Runi: I Don’t Understand: Sarunas Jasikevicius, who was traded from the Pacers to the Warriors last January doesn’t understand his current employer. "I'm really waiting for them to trade me," said Jasikevicius. "It's been going on since February, and nothing's happening. I really don't understand this franchise, to be honest with you." He’s due to make $4 million this season on the final year of the deal he signed with Indiana two summers ago. Jasikevicius’ agent said that the Warriors currently have quite a few interesting offers on the table for Sarunas, but nothing has been leaked as of yet. I hope he finds a team that wants him before training camps start to open.

Pietrus Revisited: Mickael Pietrus, who is a restricted free agent of the Golden State Warriors , has told his agent that he would prefer to be traded to the Miami Heat . Apparently the Heat are still looking for a third team to help them complete a deal that would bring Pietrus to South Beach. The Pietrus Saga has been going on for way too long, and in my estimation I’ve covered the story 56 times in the Scoop since the end of the 2006-2007 NBA season. I hope a deal is made before I mention a rumor involving Mickael for the 57th time. If not, I apologize in advance.

Granderson Joins 20-20-20-20 Club: Tigers’ centerfielder Curtis Granderson has joined the extremely rare 20-20-20-20 club, along with Willie Mays and Frank “Wildfire” Schulte. Granderson, Schulte and Mays are the only players in Major League Baseball history to record twenty stolen bases, home runs, triples and doubles in a single season. Curtis joined the elite club on Sunday when he stole his twentieth base of the season against the Mariners. I’m lucky enough to have Granderson on my fantasy baseball team, The Drew Crew. I enter the playoffs this week against The Beerman Bombers. Wish me luck en route to my League’s title.

Rollins: Willis Likes Philly: It’s becoming more and more likely that the penny-pinching Marlins are going to try and trade pitcher Dontrelle Willis this winter. Philadelphia shortstop Jimmy Rollins, a friend of Dontrelle’s, is hoping that Willis might become a Phillie before the start of the 2008 season. I’ve always liked Willis, and I’d love to see him pitch for a contender rather than waste his talent in a place like Florida. He’s not the elite pitcher we once thought he would become, but he’d still start for any Major League team. The Phillies are also a fun team to watch, so acquiring a hurler like Willis would be a sexy winter move.

Rough Day For Giant Fans: It’s hard for me to sympathize with Giants’ fans, but I’d hate to be one after Week One in the NFL. Not only did New York lose a shootout to the division-rival Cowboys, but they also lost their starting quarterback and first-string running back to substantial injuries. ESPN is reporting that Eli Manning will miss at least one month after separating his right shoulder on Sunday night. Brandon Jacobs will also miss roughly a month with a sprained MCL. Jacobs left the game with 26 yards on the ground, while Eli left after throwing four touchdown passes and nearly leading the Giants to a come-from-behind victory. Ouch.

The Video of the Day: Quite possibly the best show on television.
