Jarrett Culver has been named the G League Player of the Week.

Culver averaged 32.7 points and 8.3 rebounds on 60 percent shooting last week for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Culver appeared in 10 games last season with the Atlanta Hawks. 

The Houston Rockets are signing Jermaine Samuels to a two-way contract. Samuels spent last season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the G League.

In six Las Vegas Summer League games with the Rockets, Samuels averaged 11.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists. The 6-foot-7 forward was a key contributor in Houston's run to the Summer League championship game.

In 50 G League games last season, Samuels averaged 15.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
