The Iowa Wolves have acquired the returning player rights to Lance Stephenson.

The Minnesota Timberwolves currently have an open roster spot.

Stephenson last played in the NBA in 2021-22 with the Hawks and the Pacers. His most recent playing experience was four games in Puerto Rico’s Leones de Ponce this past spring.

The Texas Legends selected forward Jack White with the first overall pick of the 2023 G League Draft. White will now play for the Dallas Mavericks G League affiliate this season.

Players who aren't returning to the G League, or assigned Affiliate Player status, are eligible to be drafted. With the increase in Exhibit 10 contracts around the NBA, this season's draft didn't feature as many notable players.

In addition to White, other familiar players drafted included Manny Camper (Sioux Falls), Kok Yat (Iowa), Scottie Lewis (Windy City) and Nojel Eastern (Iowa)

The Minnesota Timberwolves and forward Matt Ryan have agreed to a two-way contract. Ryan finished last season on a two-way deal with the Wolves.

Ryan joined Minnesota in early-December after starting the season on a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. In 22 NBA games with the Timberwolves, Ryan averaged 3.4 points in 8.2 minutes per game.

Ryan has also played for the Boston Celtics during his two-year NBA career. In his return to Minnesota, the 6-foot-6 forward will split time between the Timberwolves and the Iowa Wolves of the G League.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have named Ernest Scott as head coach of the Iowa Wolves, the team’s G League affiliate. Minnesota also announced the promotion of Nathan Bubes to Assistant Coach and Michael DiBenedetto to Assistant Coach/Director of Operations for the Wolves.

“I am grateful to be named the Head Coach of the Iowa Wolves and represent the Timberwolves organization in the best light possible,” Scott said. “I’m excited to continue being a part of the community in Des Moines and execute the vision and goals of Coach Finch and the Timberwolves in everything we do on and off the court.”

Scott is entering his third season with the Iowa Wolves, first as the head coach after spending the last two as an assistant coach.
