Dee Bost Named D-League Player Of The Week

The Idaho Stampede’s Dee Bost was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, Feb. 17 – Sunday, Feb. 23.  The honor is the first for Bost this season. 

Bost, a 6-2, 176-pound guard from Mississippi State, led Idaho to a 2-0 week, including wins over the Maine Red Claws and Los Angeles D-Fenders.  Bost averaged a 20.5-point, 14.5-assist, 11.5-rebound triple-double last week while shooting 36 percent from the floor. 

On Feb. 19, Bost, who leads the NBA D-League in minutes (42.0 mpg), played wire-to-wire against the Red Claws, scoring 29 points to go with 14 assists, seven rebounds, two steals and a block.  He came back three days later to record his fifth triple-double of the season when he finished with 12 points, 16 rebounds, 15 assists and four steals at Los Angeles. 

On the season, Bost is averaging an NBA D-League best 8.9 assists, to go with 16.2 points and 6.4 rebounds.

Pierre Jackson will sign with Fenerbahçe Ülker of Turkey if he is not traded to a team that will give him a roster spot ahead of the trade deadline.

Jackson's draft rights are owned by the New Orleans Pelicans and he has emerged this season in the D-League.

Pierre Jackson Stuck In Limbo In D-League With Rights Owned By Pelicans

Pierre Jackson has been outstanding in the D-League, but is in a difficult situation in regards to his NBA future.

Jackson was the 42nd overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers and then traded to the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans have not renounced his draft rights to allow him to become a free agent, but they also have not signed him. 

Jackson is averaging 29.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game for Idaho.

"(Europe's) on the back of my mind," Jackson told CBSSports.com over All-Star Weekend. "My family needs the money. I need to provide for m family so whatever I have to do, I'll have to.

"The NBA's always been my dream, and I think I'm good enough to play there. But the way the cards are dealt, I may have to go overseas for my career."

The Idaho Stampede’s Pierre Jackson has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, Feb. 3 through Sunday, Feb. 9.

Jackson, a 5-11, 176-pound guard from Baylor, led Idaho to a 2-1 week and averaged 41.7 points on .561 (46-of-82) shooting, to go along with 4.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds. On Feb. 4, Jackson set an NBA D-League record with 58 points on .727 (24-for-33) shooting, while recording eight assists and six rebounds in a 136-122 win over the Texas Legends.  He connected on 7-of-13 attempts from 3-point range and his 24 field goals made became a new franchise record. This is the third time Jackson has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week this season.

Other top performers considered include Austin’s Courtney Fells, Canton’s Arinze Onuaku, Los Angeles’ Manny Harris, Maine’s Chris Wright, Rio Grande Valley’s Tim Ohlbrecht, Sioux Falls’ Justin Hamilton and Tre Kelley, and Springfield’s Darius Johnson-Odom.

Kevin Murphy Named D-League Player Of The Week

Kevin Murphy of the Idaho Stampede has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, Jan. 27 – Sunday, Feb. 2.

Murphy a 6-5, 185-pound guard from Tennessee Technological University led Idaho to a 2-1 record and averaged 36.0 points on .616 (45-for-73) shooting, to go along with 7.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.7 assists. Murphy connected on 8-of-18 attempts from behind the three-point line.

On Jan. 21, he set the Idaho franchise record with an NBA D-League season-high 51 points to go along with eight rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block in a 127-123 victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The honor is the first for Murphy, who is averaging 23.5 points and 6.0 rebounds this season. 

Other top performers considered include Austin’s Josh Howard, Los Angeles’ Terrence Williams, Maine’s (Boston Celtics assignee) Vitor Faverani, Rio Grande Valley’s Akeem Ellis, Sioux Falls’ Sioux Falls Skyforce, Springfield’s Darius Johnson-Odom and Texas Legends’ Devin Ebanks.
