OT: NBA Lottery.....tonight

Post#1 » by MaxwellSmart » Tue May 20, 2008 11:26 pm

I know we all don't care this year----But, how will this year's fixed Lottery go down?

I think the favorites to get the top 2 picks are:

Memphis (for GIVING Gasol to the Lakers)

Miami (cause the League and T-Mobile need D Wade to be relevant again).

Knicks (cause it's NY)

I'll go ahead and make a guess at the top 3

1. Knicks
2. Heat
3. Grizzlies

I'm down with the Knicks for #1 or 2 this time. Not that it's a conspiracy, but that franchise needs good news as much as we did last year.

Sacramento or maybe Charlotte or the Clippers or Milwaukee or Minnesota, because its not fixed. But I'm sure if one of those teams wins, there will be some reason for it from the conspiracy theorists.

Man, what a reversal of fortune! Last year we had our hearts broken on lottery night, this year we're PLAYING. **** sweet.

1. Twolves
2. Heat
3. Grizzlies

Feelin' the Twolves tonight. I wish them all the luck in the world since without them, we wouldn't be playing tonight!

I have no vested interest in the draft this year. With the 30th pick its a long shot to get a valuable player.

They "assign" number combinations to teams.....making sure certain numbers are NOT included for certain teams.....Then they switch Balls(what was wrong with the balls in the hopper?).....to the "weighted" balls----the "Certain" numbers are the weighted balls....THUS, the league picks the REAL order............I remember last year,Wyc saying he knew they were NOT getting a top 3 pick, cause NONE of the Celtics assigned numbers were chosen.

I hate how the process goes down. They give Miami the combo 1,1,1,1 through 2,2,2,14 or something similar to that. To erase the doubt of the system being fixed, why couldn't they just mix around the possible numbers and not do them in order like that.

What if the GS Warriors have like 4 chances that all have the number 14 in their potential winning combos and the number 14 ping pong ball is strangely weighted so that it could never come out or is defective in some way?

I hate the system and don't like how it is not done on television. The lottery is for millions of dollars and is pulled on live tv.

I would like to see Al Jefferson paired up with either Rose or Beasley.

it is a joke, no doubt about it, but it has to be some form of a lottery.

does anyone know anything about the 3rd party that is in charge?? do they do anything else other than this??
