Stern will not let the Celtics lose

Post#1 » by Duganov 34 5 20 » Sun May 4, 2008 4:44 am

This year TV ratings are way up because of the Celtics.
Imagine Lakers-Celtics finals, everybody's gonna watch. The whole world.
Stern deffinatly is going to do something.
Watch the game, all the calls are gonna go our way.

I'm tired of hearing David Stern won't let the Celtics lose. As far as I know, he has a fixed salary. He's making over 10 million a year. He doesn't exactly need money. Considering he's also a human being, he very well may not like the Celtics (Human beings can have vendettas, favorites). Don't hold your breath on David Stern helping the Celtics.

This is a very dumb thing to say. You are suggesting that the fix is in. If that was the case, Stern would have fixed the draft where we would have landed the #1 pick last year. He would have also made sure we got Duncan the year Tim came to.

David Stern could care less about the Celtics. In fact, he is bad luck IMO when it comes to the Celtics.

if anything, stern & the league are for some reason, against the celtics. this makes for better tv than a four game sweep would. not sayin i believe it, but there has been more than a few questionable calls.

i wouldnt dare say "all the calls will go our way" tho

He better say something to those refs. I don't mind some fouls but you gotta call it the same on both sides. It's the playoffs, this is where it actually matters

Thread and statement is ridiculous. Only the Celtics control their fate. If you want to watch something fixed, try pro-wrestling WWE, WWF, FFW, WWW or whatever they hell they call it now.

We don't need his help at home, the Hawks do.

This is rich.

Celtics fans need no worries because Stern won't let the Celtics lose!!!

Seriously, if you believe such BS, how can you root for a professional sports team?

This 3d is Bull****, the refrees make it a 7 games series, at least they won the Hawks one and a half games, we're gonna destroy the poor Hawks in game seven unless it's a nightmare night.

^^100% right. The C's have always been treated differently (read:harsher) by the league than the other teams, and this goes all the way back to the days of Red's coaching days. I don't know if all the winning and Red's personality got on people's nerves (probably, and a LOT of jealousy) but especially since 1986 the league has been paying the C's back for all those years of winning.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Celtics-Lakers matters to Celtics and Laker fans, that is it. It is not a national phenomonon. I am sure the league would be just as happy with a LeBron-Kobe final.

What ABC doesn't want is a DET-Utah final.
