Just how good is Tyler Colvin?
I was kind of pissed when the Cubs took him in the first round last year, but have been pleasantly suprised with his success so far.
As of 5/11:
Tyler Colvin: .316 / 2 hr / 25rbi / 6sb
Compared to Maybin who is in the same league and is a big time prospect:
Cameron Maybin: .305 / 4 hr / 17rbi / 10sb
I know Colvin is almost 2 years older than Maybin - I'm just trying to compare his stats to someone who is highly rated.
How good do you guys think Colvin can be in the majors?

He's not really that good, I wouldn't have him in my top 100 prospects. To say the least I was very suprised that the Cubs picked him that early, especially when Travis Snider and Kyle Drabek were on the board.
So far this season he has 119 ABs, 7 SBs, .354 OBP, .504 SLG, 5/29 BB/K ratio, and a .385 BABIP.
And he is a about a year old for his league like you said.
That BABIP means he's more than likely going to get a good amount worse this season because he's getting quite lucky. Also Colvin's BB/K ratio is nothing to be proud of at all.
I really don't see him ever making a top 100 list, but thats just my opinion mostly because he's always going to be old for his level, and he would pretty much have to get at least a .900 OPS in his level which I don't see. And I don't really think he has a high ceiling. I think he could be an average corner outfielder with gap power and a good glove but thats really about it.
*Cue every Cubs poster to come in here and tell me I'm a Cards homer for not likiing a Cubs prospect*

He seems like the sort of player that could hit 20-25 HR in a season if he remained healthy and received consistent playing time.
