Feels like this is the ultimate answer to which guard we need to trade this off-season. DJM, with this roster, simply can't continue to produce enough offensive value consistently to make a good enough argument to keep him over Trae.

Trae's ability to get to the FT line and dish crazy assists just keeps a defense on it's toes at all times.

If Landry decides to trade Trae, he might as well trade DJM as well because we will continue to lack to the offensive firepower to make a difference when needed. Team ball and chemistry will only go so far.

That said, we still need a complete restructuring of the roster to better suit either guard we keep, but Trae is the one I would personally rather try to accommodate still. I mean Snyder is the first legit coach Trae's had. It only makes sense to use Snyder's vision to build what a competent roster looks like around Trae and watch it unfold.

I'll rather keep both but someone makes a tremendous offer for Murray, good bye.

Trae is by no means easily replaceable, but Murray seems content being here, and I don't get that feeling with Trae. So, imagine trading Murray and then Trae request out within the next two years. That's what I believe will happen.

I think they ultimately trade Young, but will wait until 2026 unless the Spurs are willing to return the picks.

They may, in fact, trade DJM this off-season and then Young the one after.

I can't imagine that Ressler would be willing to tank without picks for an extended time (we would likely be bad bad for the next decade-ish).

The Spurs take into account the person. Trae has only shown that he's a good person, but the Spurs don't believe he has the mindset that works for them, and Wemby.

He's such a poor leader - on the court and in the locker room. It's infuriating.

But then again, so are Harden, Durant, Kyrie, Kawhi, Embiid.

You can build a team around a great player and a poor leader.
You just need a strong coach, GM and locker room to compensate.

Hawks currently 1-for-3 in that department.

I can trust those guys in a playoff series to be consistent and that's not the case with Trae.

I don't understand your confusion.Trae's playoff inconsistency is well known.

For one thing, Shai Gilgeous Alexander hasn't ever made the playoffs before this week...

Another, only the Miami series in 2022 was a train wreck.

The rest of his post season production is pretty stellar.
