Cleveland could make a good trade partner for Trae Young?
A package that involves us receiving Darius Garland and a big could be a nice way to rebuild.

Laker fan ...
Wondering what you guys would want for Capela?
I know Reaves has a lot of value but let's say Bron/AD Reaves are untouchable
What player outside those 3 are worth going after for Capela
Lakers can Include 1st round pic and 2nd round picks If need.

My Personal Top 10 all time
Jordan, Russell, Bird, Duncan, Magic, Kobe, Curry, Shaq, Kareem, Bron
Top 5 will always be the same, 6-10 will change from time to time

During the offseason the Hawks were wanting a first for Capela (Hawks and Fallas were in talks).SlimShady83 wrote:Laker fan ...

The issue with the Lakers is they can only move their 29. No players outside the obvious carry value

Our player's value is so depressed. There is no path forward to improve the team. Only hope is a trade with SA that gets us our picks back and opens up a rebuild

We keep putting them on the block year amd after then not trading them.
It's a pipe dream thinking we are getting back both of our picks.

If we trade Trae and DM with one of them going to SA, getting the picks back is easy. I know this won't happen because our owner only cares about revenue. We won't trade Trae so no rebuild, but there really isn't a path to improving this team.
I may have pipe dreams but this situation makes me feel like I need a crack pipe

You're right, getting the picks are easy - the hard part comes AFTER.
You are depending on this front office to pick the RIGHT guy (after hopefully getting the lottery slot you want) to rebuild the team around and hope he's the next big thing.
The teardown is easy, the rebuild is hard.

Yeah, I know. As I said I think that the team is in a very bad way and I don't see any way to solve the problem. We're looking at years of playin level play at best. Right now looking much worse than that

You problem solve it by having an actual plan and not making reactionary moves. I don't have faith in this FO and I trust ownership even less.

I'd like to see these trades explored.
CC for Fournier and Grimes.
DJ for Cam Johnson/DFS and Claxton. Maybe leverage a pick in 2025.

Those are two solid, realistic, if slightly underwhelming trades that would help us return to playoff contention as soon as next season.

I'd at least bite on the DJM trade. Cam Johnson would be great next to JJ.

It's already fever pitch noise for DJ in mid Jan. No telling what deal will present itself by mid Feb, I'm expecting as good or better value than my proposal.
The Hawks and buyers should understand the FA market is yet again trash, only upping value for our guys to varying degrees.

I don't think that the Nets have any picks available to trade, think they are going to Houston.
Edit: they do have picks from Sixers, Suns and Dallas
