Can we get this version of Dre for the next 4 games? Or close to this?

Trae and Murray have to get him going early on. Dre himself needs to be able and pass when he's getting walled during his iso possessions. He's gotten 14 fga and 6 fta in the past 4 games for 19 ppg. Of course ast and rb are super low in that stretch.

I need him to be aggressive like he was last night, force the other team to have to account for him driving (and passing) and just not settling for CnS opportunities.
One big adjustment by Nate vs Bucks last night (besides playing AJ over JHol :D ), was having Hunter bring the ball up court and initiate the office. More of this please. He was able to get and stay in a groove and more importantly get to the freethrow line.

If it's ever going to happen, now is the perfect time for D Hunter to emerge into a force as our starting Forward...

Maybe a switch to PF in a small ball lineup between AJ and Okongwu?

Wouldn't mind seeing him gain 10-15 on his frame. I mean he isn't particularly explosive or quick as is, maybe more physicality suits him more going forward on both ends.

Hate to come off as negative but I doubt he ever makes an all-star team. I supported the pick, I liked him in college, but his game just hasn't developed like I had hoped. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

Excellent points.
I think a gain of muscle mass like that would do him some good depending on how his knees holdup.

I'm so glad we dumped Huerter for kitchen scraps and extended a fat contract to Otto Porter 2.0 instead. :nonono:

Got to give credit where it's due:

IDK how many of you stayed up to watch that Clippers/Hawks game, but D Hunter's defense on Kawhi was pretty impressive down the stretch. Not dominant, but so fundamentally/technically sound.

He made a real difference on a couple of games this road trip.

That was spectacular. Would love to see this kind of defense more often than not.

Hunter's defense was exceptional. Can we have a repeat performance next game?

I see Hunter being aggressive and efficient like this and I can't help but wonder why we can't see it more often?
You guys think a new coach and offense can unlock DH's scoring?
Do we approve of his diet of contested jumpers and mid range shots?
How do we not yet have a nickname for this kid?

He just needs more attempts and more so when he's shooting at a high percentage. Seems like common sense. He's holding himself back or his teammates are.

I do sometime wonder if DeAndre could really emerge as an All Star in an offense without Trae pounding the ball to oblivion...

He lacks consistency and he has to get to a point where he can demand the ball.

It will never happen if he only attempts 12 field goals per game, which he's doing this season, and it's a career high for him.

:o That is shocking information!!!

He seems next in line to leave the Hawks and immediately have a career season in a more balanced offensive system.

For as much criticism John Collins receives in Hawks fandom (some of it justified), DeAndre Hunter is the dude I'm ready to walk away from. He is a role player to the max who is inconsistent, overrated and passive as hell.

He doesn't rebound. He doesn't playmake for others. His handles are basic and limited; his defense is overrated. Dude is the definition of mediocrity. And he's the highest drafted Hawks player since...Marvin Williams. :nonono:

We traded so much to get this dude here, and he's been a massive disappointment.
