The water is wet. The most former black players are anti Jokic. Dummy is saying that with Embiid you can win the title because he's playing defense, ignoring the fact that one player led his team to the title and other never past the second round of the play ofs. Even Bozni knows that Wallace is full of crap. Wallace wouldn't be able to shine Jokic's shoes on the court.

Is it me or was he kind of bad in Games 4/5? Out of rhythm, not making good patient decisions on the ball, Sabonis esque hand off spamming. Not aggressive enough going to the basket or patient enough drawing doubles, also had 6 turnovers tonight. I wasn’t a fan of his defense either.

And then you look at the statlines and it’s still a joke of a line.

He was far from great in elimination game, but he's so good that even his mediocre game is better than most stars average night.

I do think game 5 was clearly his worst game and they could have lost that because of that. Playing against Davis isn't an easy thing though, so overall that's an incredible series.

He was very good in game 5 and bad in game 4. He just didn't get the ball off the pick and roll. Murray and Jackson were ignoring him all game long in the game 4 he actually didn't look to score. The last night he was asking for the ball , he just didn't get the ball back. Also in this series he was double teamed most of the games. Against Minnesota he wont be doubled a lot so I am expecting big scoring games for him . Also disrespect by the refs towards him is ridiculous.

His offensive brute force is just that damn good.. can coast and troll for extended spurts then lock in for a quarter and waltz through a game of high production - that’s unheard of. His defense though, it leaves a ton to be desired - and I thought James / Davis as a two-man attack forced a lot of issues that nobody really did last PS. Curious how he holds up the rest of PS on that end

Well if Davis was the man he would have played Jokic straight up one on one all series long without any double coverage. As soon Jokic would try to post up him up double would come. At least Jokic was there one on one all the way except one game, Davis is a very skilled player. Also Denver guards were horrible in the series playing with Jokic, not passing the ball back, they were taking ton of bad shots Murray,KCP,Jackson,Braun. Hopefully that will change in the next round.

He was running through the motion for most of game 4 and then switched on to another gear when the game was out of reach. Had he started playing aggressively just 3 minutes earlier there would be no game 5.

He was total ass in game 5. The statline looks great but he was carried hard that game.

He wasn't carried , he had 25,20 and 9. His guards were playing like an ass most of the game and the series.

Wolves played good defense on him, gave Joker different looks. 7 Turnovers.
0-1

Impressive and rough night for Jokic at the same time. Ended up taking too many threes. Shot 9/16 inside the arc but 2/9 from 3. That isn't his game. Tons of turnovers, too. His defense was actually better than usual, but he was trying to carry pretty hard.

Denver also just straight-up wasn't able to stop the Wolves. Naz Reid? Really? 16 points off the bench? You can't have that. Yes, yes, a solid roleplayer for sure, but jeebus, man. Conley, Towns and Reid were also 7/12 from 3. And of course Ant was a monster. It wouldn't have mattered what Jokic did, the rest of Minnesota outperformed the rest of Denver. Naz Reid alone outscored Denver's bench, and Minny easily won the offensive rebounding battle.

We shall see what Game 2 brings.

Jokic needs to go Super Saiyan in order for the Nuggets to win. Game 1 wasn't bad, but it was clearly below his BITW standards

The Nuggets just look worse in too many areas compared to Minnesota. It's unmistakable. It reminds me of LAL v. DEN last year. Close games but an unmistakable gap in two-way play between the teams.

I think this year might be Minnesota's moment. They seem way, way better than a +6 team. I think they can have an 01 Lakers kind of run where the defense is inhuman and they get hot from the outside and blow everybody away.

I think they can humiliate Denver and sweep them based on what I've seen. But it would take Edwards staying pretty unconscious from the field. And I don't think he's quite this good.

Maybe adjustments can sway things but the talent gap is clear IMO. Outside of Jokic of course, but again at this level of play Edwards is an elite player himself. Along with Rudy.

Indeed.

We shall see what happens with Murray. He does this a lot, but if he can get himself going, this will be an interesting series.

This is the issue. We'll see what Ant has. His playoff performance has been marked by considerably better shooting than he manages during the RS and he's on an absolute heater from 3 at the moment. If that lasts the remainder of the series, he's going to be impossible to guard.

I'm still a Jokic believer and fan, but would the few PC Board posters calling him a tangible candidate for the GOAT basketball season across all of NBA History like to defend *this* game and effort so far in the series?

FTR.. Nuggets still have a shot to win imo, and I won't count them out until 4 wins are hung on them
