I gotta tip my hat to Chris Paul for the amazing performance that he's put on tonight...but lets not get too excited here.
It's safe to say that Chris Paul is playing better than Nash right now. However, we'll have to wait until the end of the regular season, and don't forget -the playoffs- to see who can deliver the most. Until then, Nash is still the best PG in the NBA in a team that has the best record in the West.

If you really wanted to go there, you'd actually have to look at the outcome of their individual matchups. The problem with doing that is that you'll see that Paul leads 5-3.

Chris Paul is my favorite point guard in the league right now, but I'm not much of a Nash fan, although I do respect what he can do. Paul is arguably playing the best basketball in the league right now, and this season he has performed the best out of all the PGs... but playoffs, and past, has to be taken into account.
Steve Nash is still the NBA's best point guard. Then Paul, Billups, Deron, Parker, and Kidd round out the list (in no specific order).

How hard is it to score 42 points when you take 33 shots in a game where both teams put up 130?
Score 42 in a game where there is some defense being played and I'll be impressed.
I love fat PGs who can do this, btw: Notice who he beats before he makes Chandler his bitch.

Bingo.
Deron was in the final four in college and has been in the WC finals. Paul has put up some pretty stats in his college and pro career, but if you want substance and wins, Deron has been the guy. This year, Paul has joined Deron in winning basketball games.
We'll see what happens in the playoffs this year.

While you can argue that Deron has been playing the best over the last month or so... over the season Paul has him beat statistically. Plain and Simple. Paul has been unreal this year. Give the man his due (as hard as that is to say for me). MVP-like season so far...
With that said. I am not willing to say that Paul will be the best PG in the future.... we'll see... Deron is picking it up again. And you do all know that if I need to pick a PG to lead me to a ship.... which one I am going with...

Ya if "leading" the matchup means scoring 3 more points while losing by 15 I guess you're right.

I'd welcome a Hornets/Jazz playoff series. CP is scared to play against Deron. That's pretty obvious. NO can win 60+ games for all I care. They don't stand a chance in a 7 game series against us.
There's just certain teams that don't match up well against others. We don't match up well against the Spurs or Lakers but I like our chances against any other team in the west. NO doesn't match up well with us yet they'd probably give the Spurs a run for their money.

Paul's my MVP this year, best offensive point guard in the league. He needs to improve his defense though, a bigger, faster guard like Williams becomes unstoppable against Paul.
What's with all the Deron bashing? The man's right there with Chris Paul this year, and he's also made his PF into an all-star. Even when Boozer plays badly, the Jazz still can stay afloat, because Williams is the true All-star of the team.

Deron Williams is a FANTASTIC player, but I'll take CP3 over him easily as an outsider. He's my no.1 PG in league, probably. I say probably because Nash's shot is absolutely SICK. Paul's jet quickness and incredible thievery skills and age make him my no.1 choice...2.5 spg??? SICK!!
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.
