What an amazing serie.

The Hawks did an awesome game and really deserve the game 7

Now, despite the game in Boston, anything can happen but the C's are favorites.

GO HAWKS!!!

Of course the Celtics are getting screwed. The Hawks have been shooting nearly 40 free throws a night in the games played in Atlanta.

But that's beside the point. The Celtics should have been able to overcome the free throw discrepancy on sheer talent. But instead they are playing like crap, particularly in the 4th quarter: settling for jumpers instead of going to the rack, defensive lapses and all the rest.

Chubby Chaser wrote:One thing that almost all the pundits and most fans are overlooking regarding the Celtics is their lack of Championship experience. People were so quick to hail them champions, or have them automatically representing the East because of their strong regular season, and the weak eastern conference. But people are overlooking the fact that outside of Cassell, and Posey, no one really has Championship experience to lead their team in the playoffs. They have talented players in Pierce, KG, and Allen. But individually these guys never performed in the playoffs. Sure KG got to the WCF one year, but they got swept by the lakers if I'm not mistaken. I think this is why they brought in Cassell to try and settle them down during the playoffs, but his role on the team is so minimal that he can't really be expected to make a tangible difference.

I liked KG until he went to boston. Don't really have anything against him, but I don't want the celtics to represent the east. So I'm hoping the Hawks steal game 7. That would be absolutely insane!

There is no excuse for Boston being on the brink of elimination with a game 7 against a team that only won 37 games this season but there are many things I dont agree with in your post.

All 3 of KG, Allen and Pierce have been to the conference finals and they are all known to step it up in the playoffs. KG put up 25 / 15 / 5 / 1 / 2 in '04 leading the Wolves to the conference finals where they lost to the Lakers in 6 games (they did not get swept).

Paul Pierce averaged 25 / 9 / 4 / 2 / 1 in '02 leading the Celtics to the conference finals where they lost to The Nets in 6.

Ray Allen averaged 25 / 4 / 6 / 1 / 1 in '01 leading the Bucks to the conference finals where they lost to Philadelphia in 6 games. He also averaged 27 / 4 / 4 / 1 / .5 in '05 leading a relatively unknown Seattle squad to the second round where they eventually lost to the champion Spurs in 6.

The Celtics struggles early on in the playoffs is not due to lack of experience but rather they are playing laxidazy after crushing the Hawks in games 1 and 2. Mike Woodson has done a excellent job of making adjustments and is telling his team to get out on the run before the Celtics have time to set up on D. This team just needs to find a playoff identity as KG is the only one of the Big 3 who has gone into the playoffs as the top seed. They did not enter the playoffs at full throttle because they had the top seed locked up a month before the playoffs whereas Atlanta came in with a full head of steam after fighting hard to even make the playoffs. It's a classic David versus Goliath scenario but I expect The Celtics to pull through and hand it to the Hawks in game 7 at the TD Garden.

The Celtics are very fortunate the Hawks are garbage on the road or this series would be over by now.

Would we say the Celtics are one player way given what we have seen from them? ;)

I love that quote from you High5...

Do some of the C's fans not understand that the Hawks shoot a lot of FT's because they drive to the basket and get fouled? I hate it when fans point to FT differential when discussing officiating. The refs do not just hand out an equal amount of FT's.

This series is so surprising. Everyone expected Boston to win in 4 or 5. This has been the best 1st round series and the longest at 7 games. This is truly remarkable by the Hawks. Now they have a chance to win the series in Boston.

You guys are clueless. THE FT disparity is because Boston has been a jump shooting team in this series while the Hawks have been attacking at home.

The Celtics have by far had the overwhelming majority of calls in their favor.

The biggest discrepancy has been in the refs not calling loose ball fouls on Boston which is an absurd advantage which has led to numerous offensive boards and 2nd chance points.

The Celtics have also gotten away with moving screens, Pierce charging into Marvin Williams and Josh Smith, and BS charges called against the Hawks on flop jobs and even inside the dotted line.

What a freaking blind homer to suggest calls have gone in the Hawks favor for the most part.

And don't even think about complaining about officiating when in Game 7 it will probably be the worst officiated game ever in favor of Boston

Actually I think the Hawks were even getting the worse end of the calls at home, which is really odd....

Any way, I hope they win game 7. Ill laugh for the rest of my life.

If somebody told me that the Hawks-Celtics series would be the last series left in the first round, I'd still be laughing.

I thought they had enough talent to win a game and send it to 5 games, but now this is going to 7 really shows alot about both teams. Celtics so far inability to defend on the road and the Hawks toughness and composure playing at home.

I still think the C's will take care of business at home, but I'll definitely be rooting for the Hawks hehe ;)

Agreed. The Hawks should've had 75 free throw attempts last night instead of 47, IMO.
