People were so quick to hail them champions, or have them automatically representing the East because of their strong regular season, and the weak eastern conference. But people are overlooking the fact that outside of Cassell, and Posey, no one really has Championship experience to lead their team in the playoffs. They have talented players in Pierce, KG, and Allen. But individually these guys never performed in the playoffs. Sure KG got to the WCF one year, but they got swept by the lakers if I'm not mistaken. I think this is why they brought in Cassell to try and settle them down during the playoffs, but his role on the team is so minimal that he can't really be expected to make a tangible difference.

I also think the Hawks are a really good team. Their regular season record is not indicative of how good they really are. They're athletic as hell, and now that they got a legit pg in Bibby. Joe Johnson only has to focus on scoring now instead of getting his teammates involved. Josh Smith is an absolute beast, and Horford is a bit undersized but plays with the heart of a Giant. He should be the rookie of the year in my book. The Hawks and Charlotte were two teams that I couldn't understand why they were not doing better this whole year. Both teams have more than enough talent to have a shot at making a run in the eastern conference.

I liked KG until he went to boston. Don't really have anything against him, but I don't want the celtics to represent the east. So I'm hoping the Hawks steal game 7. That would be absolutely insane!

They lost in 6 games and almost pushed it to 7.

I'd love to see Bill Simmons' reaction if the Celtics lost on Sunday

Celtics have been a different team on both ends on the road, so far...

This series is a fraud. Celtics should win game 7, and it just makes me want my time back for the 3 games in ATL. Watching Atlanta shoot 30+ FTs a game was not enjoyable in the least. And don't give me "But but but the Hawks r like driving more n stuff!" bull. Look at the teams' regular season averages. The Hawks ranked 7th in FTA per game and Boston ranked 10th at a whopping .7 FTA per game behind. Yet in the playoffs they're averaging 10 more attempts per game than the Celtics. Something just doesn't add up.

How many Boston sports fans have you actually met? It's nice to see people being sterotyped from a person who knows little about what they're talking about.

If you're going to be fair, does the officiating have to be fair as well? Which means the Celtics can challenge any call that goes against them? The Celtics in 5 if that was the case.

The statistics I read had said the Celtics averaged 16,600 last season being in last place and laughed at by a lot of fans. Could you tell me what the Hawks averaged in their very bad seasons?

He was getting rid of the ball like it was ON FIRE, not to mention critical turnovers when the game was on the line.

Could you please list to me all of those great teammates he has had that have been healthy in his playoff career? Even Jordan couldn't get anywhere without the teammates.

The guys who are choking are Rivers and Pierce.

Rivers has gone away from the rotations that won him 66 games to play Cassell and Brown. Cassell has had a couple of hot shooting nights, but the rest of the time he's awful. The offense stagnates and the guy is lousy defensively. Brown, meanwhile, has been utterly useless. Furthermore, by shortening the rotation, he's managed to tire out his stars. Look at the Celtics' offense in the 4th quarter last night. Horrible. Where is Tony Allen? Where is Glenn Davis?

As for Pierce, after playing excellent defense most of the year, he was horrible last night, blowing a number of rotations to let Marvin Williams score easy baskets. Then he shows his immaturity yet again by picking up a technical at a crucial moment to turn a one possession game into a two possession game at the worst possible time.

The Celtics may win game 7, but this team is not going to win a championship under Rivers, not this year or any year. Hopefully the Hawks will manage to win game 7 and someone in the Celtics' brain trust will figure out that Rivers needs to go.

Just glancing at the nba.com stats page for KG, his points average is higher than his season average in just about every playoffs. Didnt check anything else though.

I don't quite understand this series. How is Boston destroying the Hawks at home by 20+ a game but yet can't beat a team that wasn't even .500 on the road on their home floor.

Hawks only play good at home. When they go on the road they stink real bad. Will that change Sunday? I seriously doubt it. Doesn't matter the damage has been done on Boston. They are in deep trouble against Clevland.

Is this the only 1st round series to go seven games? Kinda surprising the one series no one thought would go seven games, ended up being the ONLY series to go seven games.

If you're even going to begin to suggest you're Celtics are getting screwed - just stop now. You have no room to talk after the KG-Pachulia incident.
