This Jalen Brunson season is better than any season from Kyrie, Dame, and who else?

Jalen Brunson is leading a team. Kyrie has never done that successfully. He tried in Boston and got ran out of the city. Dame depended on CJ. Dame is nothing without CJ. Brunson beat the Sixers by himself!

The bolded is silly, but Jalen is doing something Kyrie never could. Now Kyrie did something that Jalen hasn't been able to...win a ring as the #2, but I'd say what Jalen is doing is even more impressive and I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that if the Mavs had paid Jalen what he was worth, he would've matched Kyrie's achievement eventually.

CJ was Dame's "Pippen." Portland's entire offense was built around Dame running pick and rolls while CJ caught grenades and isolated. Portland was fortunate to have a guy like CJ who was amongst the league leaders in MADE BASKETS. Rhat is what made them a successful team, not "Dame Time." CJ has consistently been in the playoffs without Dame while Dame has been a loser. If Dallas had kept Brunson they would have been considered contenders for several seasons now. They have regressed from the WCF team.

And having a good first round series isn't as impressive. Sorry.

It's so fun how narratives change. 13 months ago it was all 'the Knicks have no chance, Mitchell > Brunson and the Cavs supporting cast >>> the Knicks supporting cast'. Now it's Mitchell who doesn't have enough help and that's why Brunson was able to outduel him

That said, if Spida is tired of losing and is ready to fit into our culture, he can come be the Pearl to Jalen's Clyde.

Kyrie is in my top 75. Below Dame, but well above Trae and Mitchell.

I knowingly don't have as much respect for players that played before I was born. Players like Bill Russell might legit be the GOAT. But, you have people like George Karl saying the players would get drunk at halftime because you have to stay hydrated. And that's what the league was like back then. Kind of kills the legend. Not the same level of competition as the modern game.

The truth is that Kyrie has been fantastic #2 in his career...and a massive loser as a #1.

The first round exit against Nawlins. Jrue locked down Dame, but probably wouldn't lock down Curry. Outside of that, maybe they win a game or two in some random series.

Well last season I was told that Cleveland had the 3 best players in the series, yet ol' big head still sent DM home...again...so I guess the answer is: not much.

Maybe if Mitchell gets to play with someone like Paolo or Jimmy he'll be able to finally beat Brunson...but probably not

100% this. And the Mavericks would still have an additional 1st and two 2nds they used to acquire Kyrie. The Mavericks seem solid at identifying talent, but not developing and retaining it.

That would be a good fit for Mitchell, AD & LeBron are also experts at losing in round 1

Spida has an all-star PG (Garland) and an all-star C (Allen) along with one of the up and coming PFs (Mobley) in the league. And he’s still got knocked out first round last year by Brunson and the Knicks

And he wasn’t better this season either.

This is Bronson’s chance to prove he’s better than Kyrie. All he has to do is lead the Knicks to a Championship. We know Kyrie can lead a team as the 1A/B option on a title team. Kyrie was also the one that hit the series clinching shot. Can/will Brunson do that? This is his chance to prove that he can. If he can’t/doesn’t then Kyrie should/will still be considered the superior player compared to Brunson.
