The Return of the NBA on NBC

Post#1 » by LakerLegend » Tue Apr 30, 2024 5:30 am

Hands down the best coverage the NBA has ever had...and with what they've done with Sunday Night Football we know they've still got it.

Guys you can listen to Roundball Rock whenever you want. I'm all about nostalgia but we don't know how good NBC's NBA coverage is going to be decades later.

What I do know is that TNT's NBA coverage is excellent and this would mean the end of it and the end of Inside the NBA. That would be a tragedy.

NBC>TNT.

NBC made every game feel like the Super Bowl.

That doesn't mean anything. No one knows what it would look like this time around; there's no connection to the old NBA on NBC. It's an unknown and I'd rather have the NBA coverage we already know is great. For all we know it might be just as bad as ESPN/ABC's coverage.

NBC has turned Sunday Night Football into the premier NFL night, when for decades it was Monday Night Football.

They've still got it.

Yes Dick Ebersol did a great job leading that effort and he's long gone. And it's easy to make an event out of a Sunday Night Football game; doing the same thing for NBA games on weeknights is another animal entirely. It's a complete unknown and you're just going by nostalgia here. I hope WBD matches. Inside the NBA has become part of the NBA in a way no other studio show has in any other sport.

What would happen to the Inside the NBA if TNT doesn't keep the NBA? I don't want anything messing with that show man.

Marv Albert and Bob Costas aren't walking though that door.

Whatever happens, they must keep TNT. The only entertaining national tv production set up.

If TNT doesn’t renew I bet ESPN would throw a fortune at the inside the nba crew.
