Still got some games to go here but yeah there are some takes/remarks from a couple games ago that look downright bizarre now.

before the series I picked the Wolves, I thought they matched up extremely well with the Nuggets
after game 1 well..I thought I had it right and obviously after game 2

I don't think this series is over, Minny can play much better and this might continue to be a weird home\away series like the C's and Heat last seaon. Jokic was constantly calling for the ball in game 4, from the jump. I said before the series that I think the Nuggets margin of error is small vs. these Wolves and that Jokic 26% usage from the first round or his amount of touches in the 1st - wouldn't suffice against the Wolves and I stand by that. If the Nuggets continue to run almost everything thru Jokic like they did in game 4, they would have the best chance to prevail. they shouldn't wait to be in a hole to play like that, it's important that Jokic sets the tone early, pins a few fouls on Minny's bigs etc.

it's just like ANT said in the presser, Nuggets have the best player in the world and the best decision maker in the world and when u make a mistake and he's got the ball - he will punish you and exploit that mistake. Nuggets should be making sure he's got the ball in his hands alot, that's their best recipe for success

So you are saying by putting the ball in the best player in the leagues’ hand is the best chance to win. That’s a sound strategy I think.

it's incredible because it's inevitable (and simple)
Jokic calls for the ball, Murray gives it to him. AG is on the strong side corner, Jokic gives him the nod to relocate to the weakside dunker's spot the rest is just schemes and instinct

I mean, the whole purpose of having Gobert there is so he'll do what he can one on one, he's taller and longer than Jokic and he's the DPOY, i'm positive Finch doesn't wantTowns helping there and help is pretty useless there anyway because Towns comes in to help when Jokic is too deep, he can take a high arching shot and hit it at a good clip even over both of them, that's how good his touch is - so what's the point in helping?

and if u do help, you have to be aware that Jokic is a machine - you can't help off AG there and turn ur back on him. u wanna help? fine, but keep turning ur head back and forth lmfao. the second Towns loses sight is the second AG will make his move and Jokic WILL deliever accurately and correctly, more often than not

problem is it's just hard to defend..u lose focus for a sec u get an AG dunk, u hesitate and turn ur head to AG and Jokic will find the opening and get a good look at the basket

Towns shouldn't be helping there, let Jokic score 50 in contested two's over Gobert but don't let the Nuggets get open looks from 3 and under the basket all game long...if Jokic beats u then he beats u, but make him do it the hard way.

Yep, but those hot takes came from certified Denver/Jokic haters. UglyBall (or w/e), EmpireFalls, eyeatoma, Mamba Mentality, etc. A legion of posters with perennial agendas to hate or knock Jokic (and thus Denver) down. We keep receipts here. :D

The way he flicks the ball with his wrist, if I was the opposition, I can’t even be mad. This level of flashiness is Magic/Kidd/Nash/Jason Williams, but Jokic is also a lethal three level scorer (he f’ing turned on Dirk mode with numerous fades).

Just when you think he’s all skilled, he set a couple of soul crushing screens to NAW in game 3 that I believe hurt his shoulders; he’s been a non factor since. Gobert, Reid and KAT are trying their best, but Jokic is too physical on the block that it would be BBQ chicken every time he shoots. I would use KAT to defend Jokic strictly and have Gobert be a roamer spying Gordon, clean up glass, rim protection and live with the results.

In that way, he is the heir apparent to Dion Waiters.

Lol it’s a league wide epidemic. When Smart was on the Celtics he’d do this a half dozen times a game trying to draw a foul. Ant is incredible, but you can here him yell ayeee almost as often as you can hear sneakers squeak on the court

Totally. Dion’s “And 1” was usually loud enough to get picked up by any nearby mic.

What I think is interesting is that Ant told a reporter he started doing this on purpose to get more calls because he felt he wasn’t getting them (he was probably right about both things).

"You" got punked as in Ant got punked? He scored 44, the next best scorer was old Mike Conley with 15. I'd say his team got punked and he was the only one who showed up.

The team lost, and his reaction is to talk trash to the team that just beat them down twice.

That's weak

So you only talk trash when winning. That’s actually weak.

I really can’t get on ANT he actually showed up and showed out too bad no one else did. ANT is becoming my favourite player outside of the Nuggets. Just love his game

Ant had a nice game, and his post-game interview was solid, too. This continues to be an awesome series. Minny's not going to want to drop 3 in a row, so Game 5 should be fairly epic.
