Hawks jumping to 1 after losing in play-in is a lucky break even tho this is a “weak” draft. Sucks for pistons fans again.

Yuck. The exact opposite of what the league needs to do.

encouraging teams to tank is gross behaviour.

Some teams are just bad and need talent. The current system isn't working for teams picking out of top few spots. Who gives a **** if some teams tank?

Spurs are in such a great position. Really stoked with the results especially since I have a feeling Risacher and Dillingham will be there at 4 and 8. We'll see though. They could also use their picks to make a trade for an established player. Gonna be a fun summer

As a Raptors fan I am happy that they will have all of their 1st round picks going forward, plus a top 3 protected Pacers pick in 2026 I believe. It is best to lose the pick this year in a role player draft when the teams still has picks at 19 and 31.

The league, the fans of the team, the media that has to cover the team, and the players that have to play on those teams.

There’s a reason they’re trying to abolish it.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

That's BS played up by media. There should be incentive by league to improve bad teams quickly as possible so they aren't at the bottom for so long that hurts fan interest in the long run. The tanking narrative from a business perspective presented on boards like this are completely from a self centered viewpoint.

This shows maybe top 10 worst teams should be participating in the lottery and 4 eliminated play in teams should be getting from 11th to 14th picks.
Another improvement is no teams should be picking from top 3 or top 5 in consecutive years and also odds should be declining every year they have the worst 5 records.

With this draft class? Doubt it. NBA couldn't care less this year. So the results actually feel genuine lol.

Last year however is a different story. Of all the teams, of course the Spurs get gifted another generational talent.

Don't worry about conspiracy theorists. They can't be convinced otherwise even the opposite of what they claim occurs every single year.

New York knicks pretty much dropped in the lottery every year yet nba is rigged. Lol.

Got to be rough for Pistons fans. A historically bad season and yet not a top 4 pick in what is considered a weak draft. And their management that delivered that season is still intact…

The Hawks getting the No. 1 pick is definitely a surprise. Detroit not getting any help with the No. 5

There’s very little difference between 1-10 this year. I would guess Atlanta is going to try to move back.

The team picking #5 knows one thing, it is better to pick #1.

yeah, they don't even try to hide it. And why should they when apologists will just yell "cOnSpiRacY thEoRisTs!" I think the lottery is exists to make it easier to rig. Small market teams act as farm systems for bigger markets and this is a way the league can ensure those franchise players are replenished. We saw it with Zion after AD left. And I think it's pretty obvious Trae's time in ATL is coming to an end and now they've miraculously got the #1 pick despite just 3% odds. If the NBA can reward the teams that tried competing and punish the shameless tankers then it's all for the better.

It was payment for Knicks getting Patrick Ewing lol.

Nah it’s over 121 to 107

Clippers go on a 15-0 run right after this, and eventually win the game.

Isn't the top 5 or so of this draft relatively even ? There is still a good chance the Pistons can find a decent player with their pick (good luck to them)

A play in team winning the first overall pick is wild to me though. Who could have seen Atlanta winning the lotto pre draft ?

I think every team has its favorites or will by the draft. Every draft is a crap shoot but even in bad years the higher the pick usually does better overall

This makes a Trae trade more likely now.

Why? How does that affect Trae?

Knicks have been payin for their sins of '85.

That should have been the Pacers, Kings, or GSW pick . :P

Spurs rebuild is incredible and they still have multiple other FRPs in the war chest. They ought to go shopping for win-now vets this summer.
