I'll take half the blame, but the NBA did a bad job in promoting this as I didn't know about it.

I don't buy the stuff about "this is a bad draft" when some of the best players in the league right now were not #1 picks. Nobody had Jokic as the MVP. Kawhi wasn't picked high. Steph was picked lower amongst other examples. There's been a ton of overhyped high draft picks that didn't work out. No matter who you draft though, if you don't have the right people around them, they won't reach their potential.

I also think Detroit fans are overdoing it with the pity party here. They won the #1 overall pick when they choose Cade a few years ago. They are not that unlucky.

League needs to change the odds again. Current system is too weighted towards bottom end teams staying bad. If the drafts aren't very deep with high upside, these teams could flounder for a long time.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

With this draft class? Doubt it. NBA couldn't care less this year. So the results actually feel genuine lol.

Last year however is a different story. Of all the teams, of course the Spurs get gifted another generational talent.

Nah it’s over 121 to 107

Clippers go on a 15-0 run right after this, and eventually win the game.

KAT is an elite 3 shooter. I think it is mistake to duplicate it. Wemby ends up being the 4 and he definitely did well being the 5. A stretch 4 would work way better imo.

The Spurs moved up one spot and also got to keep the Raptors pick. That's not #1, but it's good results for them.

I'm pretty sure whoever the Spurs draft will not be starting next season. However, when Wemby sat, the defense cratered. Zach Collins is a horrible rim protector. Clingan taking 15 minutes as a rookie would be a godsend and move Zach to his natural PF spot.

In the dejounte trade, the spurs could have started the atlanta picks in 2024 instead of 2025.

And they would have the #1 #4 and #8 in the same draft…

People crying about the draft order are probably the same people crying about tanking.

It’s called a lottery for a reason. I love the randomness.

Spurs won the lottery for the 2nd straight year no surprise!

By winning the lottery I mean they get #4 and #8 in a draft were nobody knows who will be the best player. Given there draft history they have a chance to select 2 starters out of this draft. Their odds of getting the best player increased by having 2 picks in the top 8.

Congrats Spurs fans you done it for the 2nd year in a row.

Also they have the option of trading those lottery picks for an established player. They have a lot of options.

I know this is a weak draft but you don't want to spend a top 10 pick on a guy you project to play 15 minutes per game.

Unless you're the Atlanta Falcons and Michael Penix.

VW's explosion was when they changed him at 5, you don't invest a lottery pick (with so many holes to cover) to move Víctor back to 4 or for his long-term backup... in the range they are in I would bet on a guard and a wing...Risacher at 4 (if Topic is gone) and Dillingham or Shepard (I'd take this one) at 8

Not only that, but only one of the teams above them needs a point guard, their biggest need, and the lotto balls helped hurt the Hawks record next year. Good for Atlanta long term, probably, but short term force feeding a rookie minutes because he's the #1 pick will kill their win total next year.

As a Spurs fan, very excited about adding two top-10 picks to our pathetic rotation.
But also, can't help but think about a guy like Donovan Mitchell. Don't see the Cavs going for a pick-heavy offer though, and I think they should keep Vassell, but damn Victor's rookie season was so enticing I'd love to add a legit guard (not Trae though LOL).

Yuck. The exact opposite of what the league needs to do.

encouraging teams to tank is gross behaviour.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

I’m pretty sure the Rockets would have traded a pick around 9-10. Looks like they’re likely to keep the #3.

I'm expecting the Jazz at #10 to take Knecht.

I think the Jazz would leap at Cody Williams if he's there. They won't draft Clingan. I think they'd take Filipowski ahead of Clingan.
