I honestly think the TNT production has gone downhill because for some reason, they ditch great themes like:

;t=25s

John Tesh would do the infamous teshes attack on whoever came up with that crap!

People really want them to go back to NBC because of a stupid theme song from 25+ years ago.

It should ESPN vs NBC - in that case I would definitely vote for NBC.

I would love to have both NBC and TNT as the NBA broadcast channels. That would be awesome. ESPN sucks - especially no post-game like TNT.

NBA COUNTDOWN led by the genuis and knowledgeable Warriors GM is 5x better than the TNT post slap stick comedy crap, and it's not even close.

TNT is the known factor here, and the best NBA programming we currently have. There's no guarantee that NBC will be as entertaining as TNT (or at least not as annoying as ESPN), and we know there's a very good chance the Inside the NBA team will cease to exist after they lose the rights. I rather stick with what I currently enjoy than assume NBC will put together something half-as-entertaining as TNT, because the ultimate end to this rights issue is that NBC gets the NBA and puts on hours of boring TV for the next decade.

The only benefit with NBC is that, depending on how many games will actually be on NBC vs Peacock, the NBA is better off being on broadcast than cable. So if it's between games on actual NBC vs TNT, then it's a clear advantage in NBC's direction.

That's about it, though. The funny thing about the theme music is that the NBA has the youngest fanbase of all the 4 major sports, so their fanbase is probably the least likely to get nostalgic over a theme song that hasn't been relevant in 30 years. There's no chance NBC gets anything close to Inside the NBA from an entertainment standpoint, and while I'm sure they will poach some announcers like Harlan and others, there's no guarantee the broadcasts themselves will be any better. So from a fan standpoint, I think it's worse if they go to NBC.
