Tulsa 66ers sign Shaun Livingston

Post#1 » by jman3134 » Sun Mar 8, 2009 6:58 am

How do you all think he will fair in the D League?

Is there any chance that he gets called up anytime soon?

The Tulsa 66ers announced on Saturday they have acquired point guard Shaun Livingston.

Livingston, at 6 foot 7 inches, has played in 149 regular season NBA games, including 60 starts for the Los Angeles Clippers from 2004-07.

It is a great move by Shan Livingston and the Tulsa 66ers. He can now play in front of NBA scouts everyday and show scouts that he is healty and can help an NBA roster now. There is a good chance he could get called up before the season ended.

Isn't the signing period for the playoffs either over or almost over? I thought that was why this mass of waived players are moving to contenders ala Gooden, Mikki Moore, Marbury.

Pre-injury Shaun would dominate the D League. I think it'll definitely be interesting though. Livingston was extremely unselfish when he was in the NBA. It looks like he's looking for his shot a lot more in the D League. If he develops a 3 point shot to make up for his loss in mobility, an NBA team will definitely sign him.

^ Do you think it could be another Jay Will-esque situation?

Not if he stays healthy. No one can doubt the amount of talent that he has, and he still has age on his side. He's still 5 years away from reaching his prime. The only way it would be a Jay Williams type situation is if he gets injured again.

He was really struggling on his jump shot today. I can't believe that he still hasn't improved his shot with all this time off.

Maybe he wasn't in shape and then once he finally was in game-shape, it disrupted his shooting habits?

I hope you're right. It's not like his form is that bad either. I don't know why he never developed a jump shot.
