According to two people familiar with Skiles' settlement after his Christmas Eve firing, Skiles is owed $1 million of his guaranteed $3.5 million next season. In exchange for waiving his offset, Skiles agreed to refund $1 million of the $4.5 million owed next season.
Skiles, who receives his Bulls money despite signing a four-year, $18 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, then spread the remaining $3.5 million out over seasonal payments of $1 million, $1 million, $750,000 and $750,000.
Thus, the Bulls theoretically could've signed D'Antoni to the $4.25 annual average remaining on his Suns contract and, combined with the $1 million owed Skiles next season, spent $5.25 million on the coach.
How much the Bulls owe him and when?
* I am confused about 'next season' part being mentioned twice.
