Playoff roster question

Post#1 » by golfer2 » Wed Apr 16, 2008 1:07 am

The Cavs have only 14 on their roster.

Eric Snow and Sasha Pavlovic are both injured and may miss the entire playoffs.

If they sign a D league player (or a free agent) before the last game of the season (4/16/2008):

1. Would that player be eligible for the playoffs?
2. How much would they have to pay that player?

1. Yes provided that player wasn't waived by another NBA team after Mar 1.
2. Prorated minimum.

Would the prorated minimum be 1/170 of $427,163, or $2512.72?

Seems like not very much to pay a player to be available for all of the playoffs (depending on how long the Cavs last).

Any way to pay more?

^ sure..dip into the Bi-Annual or MId-Level Exception if you have one of them.... they've been decreasing since January 10th but should still each be worth i guess around 40% or so of their original amount (whatever the math adds up to)...they expire on day of the team's last regular season game, though (the 16th) so today would be the last day to use em

Why would you want to do that?
