GT #29: Magic @ Bullets 7 PM (MSN/1500 AM)

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Tue Dec 26, 2023 7:56 pm

YOUR Washington Bullets are 5-23!

The team has returned back from their trip out West and now have slate of home games!

Tonight, yours truly will be in attendance to get a good look at the Orlando Magic.

Both squads faced each other in Orlando on a back to back series. Orlando won both games.

Perhaps some holiday cheer and home cooking has this one be atleast competitive. I'd like to see a fun one in person. But if it goes off the rails, I am not complaining. :P

Deni is shooting, we are playing pretty well. Bad for tank, good for team morale.

Entertaining game. Watching Wes you got to think there are so many better options as head coach out there.

And here we go with the customary collapse, curtesy of Wes “I chew gum on the sidelines”. God, I can not stand the bloke…

Side note: Seems that Delon forgot that someone called Bilal Coulibaly is on the floor with him. Not a single pass to the rookie..

I'd be fairly happy if most Wizards games looked something like this. We were competitive against a good team, showed some heart in a late comeback, but ultimately lost, which is fine since we are tanking anyhow.

I'm just tired of the embarrassing blowouts.

For all the rips against Coach Wes, I look at the team before the year and say, "What players did we want to develop?"

Bilal has looked great
Deni has looked very good
Kispert is scoring more while maintaining his efficiency
Kuzma is having a career year

Gafford has not made strides and Poole has been a major disappointment, but if you are looking at specific targeted development (at least on the offensive end), all of our other players have progressed. We aren't playing any defense and that's our tank, but I think Coach Wes has done exactly what I wanted him to do: develop our younger players and lose games.

Every game that I actually watch I think this will be the one when Poo doesn’t look drunk. Instead, same sxt every night with no accountability. I just fast forward when he’s on the floor.

Wes is the perfect tank commander.

I went to the game tonight and it was nice to see the tank commander in action. Wes doesn't have good options but playing Gallo at C against Mo Wagner, Wendell Carter, and Bitazde was funny.

Delon wasn't the only one not looking for Bilal. It seems everyone wasn't looking for him!

Anthony Black had his best game... He looks like he is putting on weight and his shot looks a lot better. They definitely left him open due to the percentages and credit to him he made the Bullets pay.

I attended last night, xmas present from my son...

Bilal's blocks were really impressive in person. In a couple of cases
(not sure if they were the Wagner blocks), it didn't seem like he was
going to be able to challenge the shot(s) but he is really explosive
and as we know, he has a prodigious wing span. I'm not sure how
well that comes across on TV.

That period early in the game when BIlal was playing with Delon
was nice.

Deni was not very good last night. He is really struggling just to score. 0 points in the first half.
The confidence he appeared to show early in the season was invisible last night to me.
I really want him to succeed but he's got to demonstrate more ability to score
even though he does many other things well. The difference between our starting
fwds, Kuz/Deni and their's, Banch and Wagner, was pretty dramatic. Their's
combined for over 50 pts in the game, our's barely ticked over 20.
Hard to win (not that that is our current goal) when there is that kind of
discrepancy.

They shot over 50% from 3. Hard to win that way too. Too many clean wide open looks
from deep for ORL.

Kuz was pretty meh in this game. It appears he may be playing through an injury.
Kisp was hot in the 1st half, 6-6, then nada in the 2nd half. More consistency would be nice.
