I've been touting that FO on this board for a couple of years now. They are incredible.

3 seasons ago, we went 32-60, while Memphis went 33-59. We were down 2.9 points per game to the league. They were down 2.6 ppg to the league.

The previous FO was not altogether incompetent, so they didn't have the problems we had. Plus, the ping pong balls gave them Ja Morant. But, they've made one great move after another.

No they're not perfect -- no one is. But they are awfully good & very young: big future in front of that franchise.
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

Suns have interesting decisions to make.

I’d run it back and try to find guard depth.

Bucks need a true PG off the bench and a wing off the depth to defend. Budenholzer needs to adapt his defensive philosophy.

The 2021 NBA Finalists knocked out on the same day. Crazy.

The Suns don't really have much of a choice but the run it back, but if I am the Phoenix GM, it has to be an approach that allows a full tear down following next season.

Paul is only partial guaranteed for 2023/24 and has no guarantee for the 2024/25 season, so there's an opportunity to reload as early as this time next year.

Not sure I am in agreement with the Bucks having a lot of work to do over the offseason.

With a healthy Middleton Milwaukee plays in the conference finals tonight and you probably won't hear much chatter about their defensive schemes.

You can't lose your 2nd best player and expect to go on a deep run.

Should Washington entertain getting involved with the Suns here?

Porzingis, Kuzma, Hachimura for Ayton, Cameron Johnson and filler?

Sarver is notoriously cheap tho. Any other owner would agree, run it back for 1 more shot before you have to make some tough decisions.

I'd pass on maxing out a non-franchise caliber big.

That Magic team is looking pretty good. Suggs, Fultz, Wagner, Carter Jr + most likely Holmgren. That’s a team to watch for the next few years as they develop.

5-years, $40M for Tim. Ted Leonsis fumbled the bag in 2019. I'm sick.

Also, our old friend Calvin Booth is now the boss in Denver.

Good for Connelly -- main point is that the Minny job was far far more appealing than our mess in 2019.

Really sobering to see where we stand on the Cheap Owner Scale - even a guy thats been marred by controversy in Glen Taylor can put together a more enticing package. Sigh

To be fair, I don't think the issue is really cheapness. It's that the Wizards are in an impossible position for a GM because we lack any high-caliber young talent and we have an owner who refuses to tank and refuses to take risks on high upside guys with questionable character.

Wizards are when you're playing MyGM and you get a franchise with a 2 stars in budget and 5 stars in annoying meddling owner quests.

Yeah if anything Ted will spend the money, but the kicker with this Minnesota deal is that Connelly gets some ownership equity which I don't think Ted will do for Connelly, but may for someone else (Masai?).

Edit: Like, whether it's the right move or not, he's about to spend a quarter billion on one player lol. Money's not the issue, it's stubbornness.

Also... Can someone explain to me how Connelly is somehow considered that great of a PoBO?
He was gifted Jokic late in the 2nd (Not his find either, but another discussion) and has failed to put a team around him.
- Traded their 2019 pick to dump salary (Poole, Keldon Johnson, Claxton, and Gafford were in the next 10 picks)
- Drafted Nnaji (22) and Hampton (25) over Quickley, Pritchard, and Bane
- Let Hartenstein walk and signed bums like JaMychal Green and Austin Rivers.
- And of Course...Gave the Rookie Max to and injury riddled chucker like MPJ AN ENTIRE YEAR EARLIER THAN NECESSARY.

Sorry, but I see a solid B track record if we are being nice.
How do you have the MVP and greatest Big man of this generation, pay the luxury tax, and still be a 6th seed.

I have seen far more creativity from Tommy than from Connelly, and thats not saying much.
