Let’s Go!!! Lottery is tomorrow !

I think the consensus is Top4 or convey

I will happy with any scenario .

Quick remember: more odds it’s always better than less odds . Should Memphis win lottery and we drop down and lose our pick this would NOT means we should have Finnish #7 instead of #6.

The butterfly effect means that we cannot assume that the result would be the same !

My Raptors big board slowly getting dwindled down, although McCain makes it for the first time this year. I don’t expect Salaun or Williams to be available at 19 but someone will slide.

Top6:
1. Sarr
2. Risacher
3. Topic (look to trade)
4. Holland
5. Sheppard
6. Clingan

19th pick:
1. Salaun
2. Williams
3. Dadiet
4. Smith
5. McCain
6. Carter
7. Watkins

#31:
1. Dadiet
2. Watkins
3. Furphy
4. Simpson
5. Edey
6. Chomche
7. Holmes II

UDFA:
1. Dante
2. Mogbo
3. Clifford
4. Beekman

I'm interested in McCain because of his shooting, but I don't see wingspan measurements anywhere. Given that he's undersized, I'm curious. I'm also curious about his ability to play backup PG since he's more offensively minded (Vecenie). My pick is still Reed Sheppard, especially with his dad having played for us before. Given the Raptors' focus on defence and ability to develop shooting, I'm surprised you don't have Stephon Castle in your top 6.

Why is Doug Smith getting to be "in the room where it happens"...??? But other than the national media guys like Zach Lowe, Jake Fischer and Mike Vorkunov...you have Dougie from Toronto, 2 media members representing Memphis local media, Washington local media, Portland local media, Charlotte local media, Utah local media, Detroit local media and San Antonio local media...so media from the 8 worst records...but 2 Memphis media members???

Wrote up a thing about some potential draft day moves to trade up via Brown for salary relief.

Bulls
Spoiler:
Most likely player(s): Lonzo Ball

2021/22 Stats: 13 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists | 42.3% FG, 42.3% 3P, 75% FT

Incoming salary: $21.3 million (Net of -1.6 million)

Pick(s) available: 11th pick in 2024 draft, future 1st from Blazers (Lottery protected thru 2028)

Jazz
Spoiler:
Most likely player(s): John Collins

2023/24 Stats: 15.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists | 53.2% FG\37.1% 3P\79.5% FT

Incoming salary: $26.6 million (Net increase 3.6 million), 3 years | 2 + 1 player option

Pick(s) available: 8th pick in 2024 draft (if owned after the 2024 lottery their pick does not drop to 10), 2025 Timberwolves/Cavaliers 1st

Hawks

Spoiler:
Most likely player(s): De'Andre Hunter

2023/24 Stats: 15.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists | 45.9% FG\38.5% 3P\84.7% FT

Incoming salary: $21.7 million (Net of -$1.3 million for the 1st year)

Pick(s) available: 10th pick in 2024 draft, 2025 Kings 1st

The Jazz are a particularly interesting trade down option if we land the 4th or 6th pick since they currently hold the 8th pick (4 or 6 for 8 + future Cavs 1st?), and all 3 have options to secure a future 1st in 2025 or beyond if we wanted to trade out of this draft entirely.

Doug 5 minutes after the draft: The loss of this year's pick can be blamed on Scottie Barnes because f*ck em' that's why.

6th pick would be depressing. would like top 3.. 4 could be crap as well if Sarr, Risacher and Holland are gone.

You are also paying more than half the MLE for someone may not have a high ceiling nor contribute immediately. Might as well wish for 7 instead of top 4.

I like the ideas you proposed.

Lonzo is only worth scraps. If he’s the best we can do we would need a future pick for sure. I’m good with trading down, grabbing a pick in 2025 and getting our medical team to help Lonzo along. We can always trade him again later. We wouldn’t move brown for him, but Boucher and McDaniels plus a higher pick for a lower one would even out the salary.

Collins + 2025 1st for Brown + 2024 1st makes Poeltl available in trade, but does it make sense for us other than that? If we think Scottie is going to be a 5 and/or we are feeling good about the bigs we’d get at 19/31 then maybe.

Hunter + Kings 2025 1st for Brown + 2024 1st is a strong go from me. We get the wing we need, he’s locked up on a decent contract, we get a future first and we still draft depth players. This nudges our timeline up and I’m about it. Barring an unexpected surprise, Hunter is better than anyone in this draft right now.

I'd be "intrigued" with any of Topic, Castle, Cody Williams or Reed Sheppard. I do not buy that Holland is clearly separated from Castle or Cody Williams. Convey also works at 1 through 6.

19 gets interesting. We are so thin on big defenders at the 3-4 but if Collier was avalable at 19? BAM. He is the pick. So hoping for a Collier drop or Salaun being there.

If we knew we could ever swing for Brandon Ingram and likewise bring JV home from the deck shuffling Pelicans then a Reed Sheppard and Collier draft would be exciting. The 31 could be then sold off.

Sorry but I don’t see an expiring Brown getting 2 DDz frps. We’d be fortunate to get one in 25’ and obv would more likely net one in this draft.

Memphis getting the #1 pick, so two members. Raptors getting a top 4.

Return to Toronto Raptors
