My issue is the injuries.

JV on a cheap bench deal - sure.

Ingram is like 3 years younger than Siakam and also fits the team better positionally next to Barnes. We've also seen him perform much better as the number 1 option than Siakam has in 2022 like you've already said.

Any trade would have to come with an extension and the price can't be super high considering his injury history. Like I'd rather give Ingram around 40-45 million per season than Siakam.

The youth argument is fair, as is the fit. The issue is what is being given up. I’d rather have wiggins for far less with assets coming back, if that was an option.
I believe in Masai.

This is an issue as well. Given we have McKechnie I always feel that players with injuries would consider us strongly.

Imagine some crazy timeline where you DONT trade your FRP for Jak and just tank for a couple years then pick up JV instead. Nah, that would be silly.

Want no part of Ingram. Borderline all-star who’s going to want $50m a year. Exact type of guy you don’t want to overpay.

His game against Toronto this year was nuts though.

Did Doc Rivers suddenly become our GM? Are we going to start massively overpaying guys because they had 1 good game against us?

Jordan Clarkson averaged 26ppg against us this year. Let’s give him the max.

On top of that, we need to prioritize defense - arguably our greatest concern. Ingram doesn't address that.

To be fair, it's been more than 1 good game. Dude carried the Pelicans to the 2nd round and came close to beating the 64 Win Suns just 2 seasons ago.

Ingram is abother lavine

Jv indicated last august theyd have to overpay to keep him in stink town.

Theyre actually desperate for a starting c that can defend and hit a 3 next to zion!

It's not the worst idea. I don't think he's the long term solution at SF but I feel like we can't be that picky right now about who comes here. He's not someone I would want to give up a lot of assets for or sign to a big contract though.

Ingram has shown that he can’t really blend into a team and needs the ball in his hands. I’m not sure how that works in Darko’s roster

I do wonder if the Pacers would have preferred him to Siakam though, given the age factor.

Massive JV Stan here but that would be an awful signing for us. JV just isn’t very good defensively and I wouldn’t want to give him the offensive touches he needs to give you value. I honestly don’t know where he goes next. Maybe SA?

Leaning towards no due to his injury history and don't want to overpay for a #2/#3 option. If he had more years left on his contract, it would be more enticing.

If Ingram agrees to resign here, I’d offer Bruce Brown, the #19 and the Indy 2026, if we keep the pick this year. If we lose the pick, I probably just stay the course. But I think Ingram might do way better with Darko’s system.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Trading for Kawhi with one year left joining a #1 seed Raptors makes sense. Trading for Ingram with one year left joining a rebuilding/lottery dwelling Raptors makes no sense.

Ingram is 27 but injury prone as heck. His trade value should be similar to Siakam so it will be interesting to see if the Pelicans accept a poopoo platter in return like the Raps did.

We need a true SG, or a true PF, while Ingram floats between the 3 and 4, but is neither. The acquisition cost would be great, so the answer is no.
