Lady Raptors? Raptorettes?
Just kidding but I think most dino names are cumbersome and hard to pronounce.
I like Diamonds suggested above, but it's not so Toronto oriented.
I think Canada was involved in combatting blood diamond ! Also I was under the impression there was diamond up in the far north
But obviously kinda agree its not really Toronto oriented .
Lot of ravines in Toronto.
Toronto Ravines. Julien, of TPB, would love that.
I don't think a local name will be found. Toronto is very diverse and nothing really represents all of Toronto.

Re: Way early New Toronto WNBA team name
If you review all the professional sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, CFL, WNBA, NLL) in North America expect for the MLS (Major League Soccer) teams with FC for football club, Sporting, Real, or SC for soccer club for a team name, there are 28 cities with names that do not end with the letter S:
NBA - Miami Heat (est. 1988)
NBA - Orlando Magic (est. 1989)
NBA - New Orleans/Utah Jazz (est. 1974)
NBA - Oklahoma City Thunder (est. 2008)
MLB - Boston Red Sox (est. 1901)
MLB - Chicago White Sox (est. 1904)
NHL - Colorado Avalanche (est. 1994)
NHL - Tampa Bay Lightning (est. 1992)
NHL - Minnesota Wild (est. 2000)
NHL - Seattle Kraken (est. 2021)
WNBA - Atlanta Dream (est. 2008)
WNBA - Chicago Sky (est. 2006)
WNBA - Connecticut Sun (est. 1999)
WNBA - Indiana Fever (est. 2000)
WNBA - New York Liberty (est. 1997)
WNBA - Minnesota Lynx (est. 1999)
WNBA - Phoenix Mercury (est. 1997)
WNBA - Seattle Storm (est. 2000)
MLS - Columbus Crew (est. 1996)
MLS - DC United (est. 1996)
MLS - New England Revolution (est. 1996)
MLS - New York Red Bulls (est. 1996)
MLS - Philadelphia Union (est. 2010)
MLS - LA Galaxy (est. 1996)
NLL - Colorado Mammoth (est. 2003)
NLL - Georgia Storm (est. 2016)
NLL - Edmonton/Saskatchewan Rush (est. 2005)
NLL - Toronto Rock (est. 1998)
Since 75% of the WNBA cities have team names that do not end with the letter S, it's possible the Toronto WNBA team will follow that trend rather than the trend at large amongst all professional sports leagues.
If so, these could be among the names considered:
Toronto Aurora
Toronto Arsenal
Toronto Athena
Toronto Aura
Toronto Brigade
Toronto Battalion
Toronto Breeze
Toronto Blizzard
Toronto Blaze
Toronto Express
Toronto Freeze
Toronto Rapture
Toronto Snowstorm
Toronto Tempest
Toronto T-Rex

there is no association with the raptors so i think they will likely avoid that theme.
golden state warriors and Valkyrie work, both in the same theme, both share ownership group/arena etc.

Beavers I don't really like any of the names. Huskies is good. But as I read maybe not so much for women. Northern Lights perhaps. But not really. A cooler name for Dragons for the jeresy logo perhaps.
edit: I like Ravens. Thunder is not bad.

I find it a bit “too corporate “ . Seems like the vibe nowadays is to be as simplistic as possible in the logo.
At least we know now it’s not going be the Toronto Valkyries . One less option!

It also oddly removes any Valkyrie imagery. Like, should we focus on wings on helmets, swords? Nah, let's just go with the bridge.

Toronto Titans
According to the Theogony of Hesiod, they were the twelve children of the primordial parents Uranus (Sky) and Gaia (Earth), with six male Titans—Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Cronus—and six female Titans, called the Titanides (αἱ Τῑτᾱνῐ́δες, hai Tītānídes) or Titanesses—Theia, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, ...
