Their best player is 39 years old, their 2nd best player is in his 30s with injury issues, they have no top young talent and few draft picks. It just a treadmill job with very little potential.

Yes, the Lakers are a draw, but nobody great hits free agency anymore. You need to trade for stars now and they'd get outbid by almost everyone.

He will be get no credit if they win, all the blame if they lose. There will be better opportunities to win if he waits.

Agree. That team can’t contend and LeBron is a flight risk. Heck, LeBron could leave this summer after they hire a new coach. JJ would be digging his own grave taking the Lakers or Hornets job.

Don't want to jinx because I would like the series to end today - but man, Haliburton just seems off.

Watching Siakam cook makes me so sad about getting fleeced in that trade. We got 3 garbage picks and a player who has no value.

Such a sad story. Not as bad as the Jak trade but it’s bad especially given Siakam’s history with the team.

Been a nightmare few years for Masai and Co since nailing the Scottie pick.

It's a home court series. I think the Pacers run them out of the gym in the 2H but then get all shook again in MSG in GM7.

We owed the Spurs for the Kawhi trade. They owe us for the Jakob trade. So now they can make it up to us with him.

That's the way it works right?

He has 261 followers

I don’t think he’s reputable for nba news

But the content of his tweet is certainly believable

Hell, JJ should still do it. 3-4 year deal, 8M/yr probably, and with or without LeBron, likely fired after one season. Very nice cash. Then he can go back to being a podster again.

Don’t think JJ needs the money. He’s doing fine with his podcast and ESPN money. Also the Lakers are very cheap and $8m is reserved for the top NBA coaches. Lakers lost out on Ty Lue because they lowballed him and offered 3 year deal when most coaches these days expect 5 years. JJ just wants to get into pro coaching. The Lakers aren’t a good situation for any coach to go into.

I’m just mainly surprised that there’s a belief that Mitchell wants to stay.

But either way, no matter which guard they trade CLE is taking a step back next season. If Mitchell stays they could still be a near mid playoff team but if it’s Garland they’ll be a PlayIn team.

But either way Mobley is going to have to majorly step up if they’re gonna be remotely relevant moving forward. I’m still struggling to believe Mitchell is willing to use up his prime on doing what exactly with CLE?! Such a weird turn in the franchise’s trajectory.

Who was the poster that was adamantly telling me that Keldon Johnson was part of the spurs future.

Dude is empty calories
