I agree, even if his stats are a bit inflated due to all of the Kings injuries. He has produced while stepping into a bigger role on the team.

If MIP means his stats per game have improved, fine he may deserve MIP. If MIP means he has vastly improved his skillset and/or the way he plays the game, I say NO ... He is basically the same player he was with the Sixers. He is just getting a bigger role with the Kings. He is a good player and always has been a good player. He just had the misfortune of being with the Sixers toward the end of the AI era.

The one thing that stands out in my memory is that he would seem to get his shot (layup) blocked quite often and I saw that happen a couple of times in the game at the Sixers this year. There is something about the way he shows the ball on his layup attempts that invites a blocked shot.

However, he made plenty of layups then and now he probably makes more so it is not as noticeable.

I don't know too much about the Salmons situation with the Sixers. Why didn't they keep him? He seems like a pretty decent player and the Raptor board is unanimously pissed off at him for reneging on a contract agreement with the Raptors to sign with the Kings. Was he too flaky? Too inconsistent? It also seems that the Sixers chose Green over Salmons. Is that accurate?

I think BK bet on one guy between Green and Salmons. I think it's fair to say he chose incorrectly.

It always seemed hard for Salmons to play "his" game and co-exist with Iverson. Salmons required the ball in his hands more than many that played with AI during his stay in philly. As a result, Salmons forced the action a lot. This isn't an indictment of either player, just my observation.

Even putting aside what we know now I think Salmons clearly was worth 1.5 million more. I wouldn't have given either their contract but that's another issue.



I also suspect that as one poster said, it was an Iverson match issue. If Iverson were sure to be gone perhaps we might have kept Salmons? WHo knows?

I don't think Green's game matches up better with Iverson. Not at all. I think Salmons had a blow up with Iverson. I don't remember the details now but there was some bad blood between them by the end. Salmons even talked about it after leaving.

I think Salmons just got fed up with getting the "dump off" pass from Iverson with 3 seconds left on the shot clock.

exactly. the only prob I ever had with salmons was that he didnt know his role.
