Play in Game for the 7th seed: Heat vs Sixers...

Post#1 » by Murray_17 » Sun Apr 14, 2024 11:21 pm

Wednesday is the day.

Embiid will have 6 days of rest and based on what Nick Nurse said today, it's difficult we're gonna see Melton at all. Covington is still dead too.

The Heat are inconsistence as hell and have one of the worst offenses on the league but have enough shooters to get variance luck and win random games. They also have a better record away than at home, so basically you cannot dismiss them easily.

We're still gonna enter the game as favorites and should win if everything goes by logic.

Let's get this ball rolling. If Jo is healthy we're basically the 2nd best team in the East. Just get him through the Heat unscathed and we should be able to beat the Knicks. Nuff of this Negadelphia ****, that can wait till we lose.

Positives for the team:

1. Embiid when healthy is the best player in the league
2. Maxey has made the leap and will continue to do so in the playoffs.
3. Oubre is playing like a clear #3 guy right now, and is a good defender
4. Tobias anything he gives is gravy as long as he's the 4th option imo
5. Lowry/Batum are the heady veterans that can produce which we've lacked for years.
6. Nick Nurse is one of the best coaches in the league. Apart from Spo we'll be winning in that area for all of the playoffs imo.
7. Ricky Council
8. If Buddy actually remembers how to shoot, that's a plus.

This is the year! 17 more wins to a title.

Must win, mostly because the funniest thing can happen if the Heat play the Celtics in the first round. I mean, I think we’re cursed, but if the Celtics lose to the Heat, it might be time to just pack up that franchise. They have had the talent and the fortuitous circumstances to win a championship and they keep blowing it. At least we usually know fairly early on in the playoffs that Embiid is <65% of his true self and well generally be an early out.

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Saw an opening line of Sixers -4.5 I would imagine it will move more in the Sixers direction as the Sixers were the superior team by a good margin when Embiid played this year. We should win that doesnt mean we will.

We’re doomed for another ‘Tobias Harris over me!??!’ experience, aren’t we?

Maxey is the 2nd best player on the court, and ready to become 1B to the best guy.

That truth may continue vs the 1st or 2nd seed as well.

I’m hopeful Nurse will have the Sixers better prepared for all of the gimmick zones against Embiid. Having Lowry on our side will probably help as well.

This is the most optimal scenario. As long as the Sixers beat the Heat, the matchup with the Knicks should also be a win since they don't have Randle.

I would rather them have Randall to take shots away from Brunson; he's a hand full. Plus the sixers seem to play Randall well with Embiid in the middle.

Yes, the Knicks also have a worse coach. I am more afraid of the Heat than of them. Randle was never a good playoff performer, I think not having him may be an advantage. In his two previous and so far only playoff runs he took a lot of shots with horrible efficiency.

I'm hoping Hield is ready to get in a shooting groove after the last win. Having him and Tobi both play well was a plus going into a big Play-In game after they have struggled for stretch

The Heat definitely scare me more than the Knicks!

Tank this game and get the Celtics...I want to see this team in the crucible straight away. I mean, it might happen anyways since the Heat are probably a shoo-in for the ECF if they win so they'll come out firing all their bullets.

I want the Celtics and I think we will beat them if Embiid is functional. This version of Maxey gives him a offensive load carrying partner he hasn't had since Butler and Maxey has taken the strides in his game that even the Celtics can't take away like they've done in previous years. Harden didn't care to share the burden, he just wanted to alternate games.

As soon as it appears the Sixers are tanking to face the Celtics, whatever complacency the Celtics might've otherwise had from playing the eighth seed will disappear completely. Give a team the impression you're losing on purpose because you believe they're the more favorable opponent you can face and they'll take the court determined to prove that wrong.

I really hope this is the year Embiid can get past the Cs. I remember 2001 when AI finally got Indiana/Reggie off his back and it was glorious. Want the same for this squad this year.

We are set up for the most satisfying championship run possible.

1. Beat Jimmy in the play in
2. Beat the Knicks in round 1 (Joel’s never gonna be a Knick, losers)
3. Beat Doc Rivers in round 2 to finally make an ECF
4. Beat the Celtics in the ECF
5. Jokic vs Embiid - we prove who the MVP is on the court
