Regarding getting Hield more involved. If you look at off-ball shooters like Ray Allen, JJ, or Steph & Klay, you need a big who can set screens effectively within the league's rules. They won't get open consistently if we only run off-ball screen plays for them unless they are part of a two-man game via pick-and-pop or Spain pick-and-roll.

Hield is clearly not right, I think he got injured two weeks ago.

?????

JJ had his best years playing off Embiid spamming DHO, Seth and Maxey have also increased their production using synergy with Joel.

The issue to me seems to be that Hield doesn't move as much off-ball as advertised and gets more 3s in transition.

I bet this Giannis injury is adjacent to the Durant injury before coming back too early and fully rupturing his Achilles

He's rested due to an Achilles and hamstring issue for a while this season. Seems to be somewhat strained and of the same injury. He should give it rest but I don't think he has anything that specifically an issue like Durant clearly did. Nevertheless I would be super careful

DHO is one type of a two man game.

So what's the projected lineups now that guys are returning?

I'm starting with
Tyrese
Oubre
Batum
Harris
Joel

I'm predicting Nurse will start Lowry over Batum though, and I'd be fine with that, but I think they're better on both ends with Batum over Lowry. Very versatile team at this point, so he gets to be creative.

I actually think the HEALTHY lineup with the most upside is Maxey/Melton/Oubre/Harris/Joel (maybe Batum instead of Harris). Melton as a point of attack defender with versatility up front.

I think the lineup will be matchup and health dependent with Oubre being the 6th man/fill in starter most of the time. I also think Melton would/could be a starter if he plays like he did pre-injury.

I'll guess the most used starting lineup in the POs will be Lowry/Maxey/Harris/Batum/Embiid.

Also, I want to take this time to say man I wish Hield was good. An elite 3 point shooting guard that isn't super short, on paper should be lethal with Embiid and the perfect along Maxey.

Hmmm... wonder where we can find one of those. Oh yeah we let him go... Miss you Isaiah Joe

During Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets, Durant suffered a right calf strain,[137] subsequently missing Game 6, in which the Warriors won the series, as well as the entire Western Conference Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers, which the Warriors won in a four-game sweep.[138]

After missing nine games with the strained right calf,[139] Durant returned to action in game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals against Toronto, and scored 11 points in the first quarter.[140] However, he was lost for the game two minutes into the second quarter when he tried to drive by former teammate Serge Ibaka and suffered an Achilles tendon injury, falling and grabbing his lower right calf.

Coincidentally, at the same time, I strained my left calf while playing basketball and going up for a rebound, completely non-contact. I obviously didn't rush back, but now every time I go for a jog for more and 3 miles, my calf injury presents itself again. Giannis is 8 months out from 30. These leg injuries start to happen around then. I'd be terrified of rushing him back too soon if I'm the Bucks.

I mean, the decision for the Bucks basically boils down to effectively shutting him down or playing. They are very unlikely to win two series without him and meaningful rest would be 4 weeks. I'd bet he will be back after their first loss in Round 1 whenever that may occur.

It's Doc Rivers...He'll be without Giannis for the first four games of the playoffs and end up with a 3-1 cushion on whoever they're playing. Giannis will return for the next three games and the Bucks will lose all of them.

Doc loves it. Giannis not coming back gives him a built in excuse for underperforming again. he can coast for another year!

I wouldn't wish what he's had to go through on anyone.

Everybody a free agent. Nurse should be able to go balls to the wall with matchup and performance based lineups. Hope he does.

I also still believe Hield, (who is a historic level shooter) is too great at that skill to fall off this hard. I think he'll turn it around. He has made it easier to bring him off the bench though....I was worried about Maxey and Hield backcourt starting.

But this is probably the best roster Nurse has ever coached. Would be nice to get 6th seed, so he can have a little training camp with the week off.
