“Got the best player at the trade deadline”

Then why does he lick ass?
To be fair this quote was after his 4 game explosion.

It says Feb 9. Unless I’m missing something, his four games prior to this quote weren’t very special.

Ah, I feel like it was fairly close to that, but I might have been wrong. Either way he was still being productive and getting minutes. I think honestly he's just in a funk, and needs to adjust. Unfortunately we don't have any time for that.

It probably doesn’t bode well that he’s playing worse when our best player with some of the most gravity in the league is making his play worse.

I've been on the Grayson Allen island for a bit. Hield just hasn't impressed Nick Nurse (isn't starting). If he doesn't develop some kind of chem with Embiid, we need to let him walk.

Give his deal ($20m per year) to Grayson Allen, instead. Allen has better plus/minus and winshares metrics than Hield and is way younger.

I doubt Phoenix lets him go, unless they don't have capspace, which they probably don't. THe other thing you forget is all shooters come here to die, so if we get Allen, he'll forget how to ****.

It's the way of the Sixers. We can't have nice things.

Just a slump. Right now he's shooting 41% on 3s without dribbling... Last Tuesday it was over 46%. With even one dribble it was 29%, and that has improved to 31%. I was never tripping because I figured that teens were just running him off the line because they didn't have to worry about Joel and fortunately he's proven to be a bit better with other things than C&S. He just needs to get into a groove. He's had a lot of change this year. But, he needs to turn it around

Buddy Hield since Joel Embiid returned (3 games)

5.3 PPG
20.8 FG% (8.0 FGA)
15.2 3P% (4.3 3PA)

Hield is shooting 29.8% from three in his last 10 games

Grayson Allen sucks and is impossible to root for. He's just the ultimate dbag. Always has been. You want to increase the Sixers big loser energy, go out and get that guy. He irradiates it.

In the last few games we could have seen how vital Tobias is for our team...said no one ever. I think there have been very few players who have so little impact on winning. He scores like 20 points but these points are so easily replaceable.

Do you guys think Melton and Covington will play in the playoffs?

I think it's safer to assume no.

Melton looked to have worked up quite a sweat in the pregame in San Antonio, so that's something?

I´m not following much the team this year. I´m working a lot, and after embiid went down, i just didnt bother. What i noticed is that Maxey is a 25ppg 6 Apg player now, and it seems that his mid game is getting better, which bodes well for his game in the playoffs. But his 3 pt % tanked badly this year. He´s shooting 37% from three ( although with more volume), way down from the last 2 years. With his trajetory, i thought he was gonna be one of the best 3 point shooters in the league, but now i dont know anymore, maybe he´s not that good as a 3pt shooter.. What is the main reason for this drop? Is that he doesnt shoot more from the corner( which he was crazy good) since he´s the pg now? It seems hes shooting a lot of more difficult 3s too ( stepbacks), comparing with last year, from what i saw of his highlights..

He takes a lot of difficult shots from three.

More more complicated shots than last years.

To be fully clear. In the past, he was primarily a set, catch and shoot 3-point shooter from Joel and Harden and even Tobias in 2021.

This season he is still averaging 45% as a catch and shoot 3-point shooter... Which is elite . But he only gets 3 of those a game. That has gone down since Joel was out. He's taking five, pullup 3s off the dribble and averaging 32% on those. So he's added to his game, and it has made him more dangerous as an overall scorer. But his efficiency has suffered with that step back three that he likes to take now. That's literally what makes Steph Curry the greatest shooter of all time. His shooting off the dribble will never be matched.
