Great win.
Maxey - this is how stars perform. 9 points before 4th quarter, and then 15pts in the 4th, and clutch in the last 3 minutes, taking over the game.

Fine I'll quit posting, but wins like this will make it difficult to secure that coveted 8/9/10 seed so that they can decide to rest Joel for the Olympics and cancel the season for that lottery pick.

Who needs Embiid or Maxey when Kelly Oubre and Buddy Hield are clearly the best players on this team.

He's making really good reads and he's finding ways to impact the game when his shots not falling or when defenses are selling out to stop him. This truly sucks not having Embiid, but we're at least keeping things interesting.

50% TS is moving into the upper echelon? ya maybe we need to be more demanding on our players.

Maxey is at 57.3% TS this season, he is around 1% below league average. Obviously he is scoring more than your average player, but we are not in the low 2010's anymore, that scoring is just not impressive anymore. Trae Young is scoring at slightly higher efficiency and is 10 times the passer and playmaker. Both are horrendous defenders. I don't see the greatness everyone else sees with Maxey, I appreciate he plays with heart and passion though.

Embiid is by far the best player on this team, it sucks that his level drops so much in playoffs though.
That being said, I would have serious doubts between Hield and Maxey right now, if you exclude the age factor of course.

A few observations:

Nice win, made even better with Maxey taking over down the stretch after a sub-par game. This is exactly what we need to see from him as he grows into the closer we all hope he'll become.

This team is so much more fun to watch without Tobias on the floor. He clutters up the offense unless he is just a standstill safety valve 3-pt. shooter, a role he clearly doesn't like. If we had lost this game, that inbound pass would have been the signature play to me.

Funny how critical people are of the Sixers without Embiid, but we saw the Cavs, among the best teams in the league, without Mitchell, and how did they look? That group is pretty much play-in level, much like this Sixers team. The Celtics might be the only team in the league that can be close to their peak without their star, but that might have something to do with Tatum not being as great as he is touted to be.

Bam, most people would man up and admit they were wrong. Maxey scored 15 in crunch time. When the game was on the line.

I guess you weren’t watching that part.

Save your vitriol for someone who deserves it-that career loser Tobias Harris.

Bamba is Nerlens pretty much but more stuff.
Maxeys composure is a great sign. Mixing him on and off ball Is brilliant. Tobias is overrated and terrible fit. Melton shot is broken but a decent defender not sure his future here with his lack of size and shooting. He's just a back up 2 and Heild is obviously a better fit. Payne might be a upgrade cause he fits with maxey and can play 3 guard line ups with that 6'3 size. Reed is a undersized forward and is just not it.

If you gonna have a bone head Oubre is the guy.. but dude is a useful talent that impacts our team in a positive way.

It's a shame Melton got injured he was clearly going to be a trade piece. Having 4 undersized guards who deserve playing time ain't it.

We could use a 2way guard with some size , now that we have added shooting, playmaking and ball handing.

Nerlens, when healthy, was a billion times better on defense than Bamba. Wasn’t even close

Wrong about what? he shot 50% TS in the game, it is a bad scoring performance, and we better not mention his defense for obvious reasons.
Maxey is having a solid season, but this game sure wasn't that.

Obviously I agree Harris sucks, it wasn't me who was ok with him instead of Butler.

Yeah Maxey is shooting basically on league average, but has a similar load than Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum while carrying a top 20 BPM, being 95th percentile on box creation and actually improving as a passer to the point he's also on the 81th percentile of passing rating.

like, lol at this even being a discussion.

Not surprised that the same guy who thinks Oubre is an importan player has this take tho.
