G52: Sixers @ Bullets 2/10 7pm ET

Post#1 » by Arsenal » Sat Feb 10, 2024 8:16 pm

For some reason we are currently 4.5-point favorites tonight. Time to bet the House on WSH lol.

Maxey is probable so should return. But Bamba is now out so we only have one big available - Paul Reed. I guess Tobi will play some small-ball 5 unless they give Lofton a shot.

Projected Lineup:

PG Maxey | Payne
SG HIeld | Smith
SF Oubre | Martin
PF Harris | Council
CE Reed | Lofton

Only 6 legit NBA rotation players again. Some chance of winning since WSH is so bad, but not optimistic.

Time's yours...

Im honestly rooting for a loss. Lets make our first rounder as valuable as possible. Unfortunately with Maxey and desperation on our side this will be a win. This Wizards orginization is one of the worst in sports. They over-rate the tradeable assets they have like Kuzma or Tyus Jones. They will never get more then one first for either. Somet time could conceivably get them a second or two as well but they set the value on those two guys as two firsts I guarantee it.

Should be a good game that goes down to the wire. Washington has hung in there against some good teams this season. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they beat us soundly. All I want to see is the beginning of some cohesion between Maxey and Hield. I want to see Council and Smith continue to get minutes as well. We may actually get to see Lofton jr tonight too. Other than that maybe we rotate on defense tonight? Maybe we defend better on closeouts? Maybe we don't get caught on screens all night long? Maybe we rebound the basketball too.

A propos the thread title, did any of you see Jay Leno's monologue in 1997 when Washington was changing its team name? It was more than 25 years ago, but I still remember that joke. What a great line.

Jay Leno wrote:The Washington Bullets are changing their name. They don't want their team to be associated with crime. From now on, they'll just be known as the Bullets.

The Bullets are burning us on threes... That's nothing new for us. I'm trying to be positive.

Um, did our commentator just say that Gafford gives Embiid a lot of trouble in the past? Dude drops 50 on them every time he plays them. Good lord...

It's because Embiid doesn't guard him at all lol Embiid doesn't see him as a offensive threat and before you know he has a couple put backs, easy dunks and layups.

I love how much athleticism we have on the floor now that KJ & Ricky are taking the vacant Morris/Batum minutes. Definitely have to accept some growing pains with the young guys but it’s refreshing to see us with some live bodies after years of watching stiffs.

Tyrese just lost his mind for the last 15 seconds of that quarter. Must be hanging around too much with Oubre.

Maxey is in a hell of a funk right now. I hope he can shoot his way out of it.

Yessir, I agree, it's pretty cool watching Council grow and get better.

Man! We need this! Washington is a terrible team, but if we can get a win tonight, it'll go a long way towards restoring our confidence.

I didn't realize how big kispert was. He's bigger than Reed even.
