This is a bit harsh. Not egregious, but harsh.

The best Redick and Seth Curry seasons in the NBA were next to Embiid, Hield will be very good here if he can play with him.

Amazing signing, it's incredible how underrated he is.

Never discount the possibility that he just forgets how to shoot.

If Redick didn't forget how to shoot, Hield won't either.

Hield actually has the ability to blow up for a huge game on any given night. Even though it’s not exactly what we need, it’s still a need. The only guys on the roster with the ability to hit 40 on any given night prior to the trade was Maxey and Embiid. Tobi in theory could (career high 39) but it would require him to be main guy on offense.

Hield's been steadily top-7 or so in the league in 3s per minute, with only guys ahead consistently being people like Curry, Lillard, D Mitchell, and then whatever 3pt shooting role player is red hot that season. He's also consistently put up just about 10 per 36 so what we're seeing so far is regular Buddy Hield.

Can Hield play the Redick role with Joel?

He’s my favorite player on the team right now.

Great addition. Really a no brainer for some 2nds and expirings.

He's going to feast next to Joel. We were lacking a player like him since JJ departure. And he's a more complete version of him.

Morey does it again.

Doesn't him doing something again suggest that he has done something? I actually like Morey but has the dude really done anything to push the franchise forward meaningfully aside from drafting Maxey?

-Drafted Maxey with a late 1st. Huge win.

-Never rushed it and traded Maxey in a stupid deal like for Kyle Lowry 3 years ago or for Dame this offseason.

-Turned borderline NBA player Bum Simmons into one of the best playmaking guards in James Harden. That allowed us to remaing competetive. If we didnt made that deal, Biid would be gone a long time ago. Also it wansn't an easy deal to make at all, he played it brilliantly with patience.

-Get's great value guys like Drummond, Oubre, Pat Bev, Paul Reed, Melton.

-He hasn't traded for or signed any bad contract, allowing us to have great fexibility moving forward.

-Didn't sign Harden to a stupid max deal, and still got a good haul of assets for him when he demanded a trade and put huge pressure on us to kill our leverage.

-He traded marginal assets for one of the best shooters in the NBA in Buddy Hield, something we were lacking for years.

Just on the top how my head. He has turned a mess into a situation when at least we have a chance to build a contender these next few years, we have a good core and assets/capspace to improve.

Did you see what he had to work with when he got the job? We were on a dog pile

He deserves all the dues imho.

Getting Harden out of Ben from Josh/Horford is elite GM work.

This x 1000.

Blows my mind that people want to criticize Morey, especially after the hatchet job his predecessors did to turn Hinkie's pile of assets into a hot steaming mess. The problem is that if fans don't see something, anything happening, they feel like it's a failure. Morey has shown that patience is indeed a virtue, and has once again put together a situation where we have a promising group and the assets to get even better this summer.

Pre Morey, we wouldn't have signed good players like Hield and Oubre, so there is that, he has surpassed the others we had by far.

I suggested Lavine due to off ball motion shooting, and volume shooting (plus some secondary play-making). Kinda got a valued version.

I wanted Hield+ for Tobias like years ago. But didn't think Pacers would trade him this year for less than first rounders as they're trying to make a push into the postseason. Great to be able to add him without giving up anyone or anything of value. Also, didn't think Morey wanted him due to defense.

Great pickup. I trust Morey to do the right thing and keep the right guys (at the right price) and not even consider some of these old has beens this summer.
