Say what you want about the final minutes of the fourth and OT, but this game was lost in the 2nd quarter. We made a valiant comeback but ran out of gas in OT. We need Oubre back ASAP. Also why did Springer only play 7 minutes?

Amazing that we got as close as we did tonight - we had no business being there in OT. That's what happens when you play small and relatively slow against a big & athletic team in Cleveland....

Shot by Maxey on that layup was like the opposite of the Kawhi shot. Looked like it should curl in easily, spun on the lip of the rim agonizingly and didn’t fall.

Not gonna complain, they didn’t give up and had a couple of good shots that just didn’t fall.

Wish Tobi could have gotten a last second shot at some point he had the hot hand late.

Cleveland came out with way more energy. If we matched it this would have been a 10 point win instead it's a bitter loss. I'd sit embiid tomorrow and regroup against OKC

It is not about favoring Maxey. Embiid should know by now that it is not his job to take the last shot. Let Maxey take that role from him. As great as Embiid is, it is hard for Centers to be the clutch shooter.

The game was lost because they played **** ass defense the entire first half, Garland was getting to the paint at will.

By the time they started playing good defense and came back they had to make a super strong effort to just be there.

Maxey shooting tonight was **** but some nights you are gonna shot like ass, that's how variance works. His defense needs to be better tho, he missed a ton of switches and was getting killed on screens left and right

Not sure why people are grousing about the game winner by embiid he makes that shot probably 55 percent of the time unfortunately he missed. He actually has quite a few game winning jumpers like that over the years this one was easier then most he just missed it.

I was gonna say this was a terrible loss. We had a chance to tie with the rival celtics for first place but..
The cavs came in this game with a gameplan and determined. While the sixers played like it was a scrimmage for most of the game.
With the lackadaisical way the sixers played until the game got close they didnt deeserve to squeeze this one out..Good loss for poor effort.

It is not about favoring Maxey. Embiid should know by now that it is not his job to take the last shot. Let Maxey take that role from him. As great as Embiid is, it is hard for Centers to be the clutch shooter.

I feel like it's a lot tougher for Maxey (and most smaller guys not named Dame) to get off a good shot in those situations.

Those milk the clock, last second shot possessions are made for wings.

Too little, too late. Cavs jumped us in the first half.... outcome could've been different had we not dug ourselves into a hole.

Sidebar-- Embiid's 6th foul was so clearly on Beverley. Everyone in the arena saw it except for the three being employed by the NB f'ng A. Wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome, but just makes you wonder how the league's current officiating staff can be this collectively awful. What kind of performance standards are they being held to these days??

They miss his energy and cutting on offense, too much standing around tonight.

Games like this show why LaVine is not the answer. Need one or two more starters solid two way players in the starting lineup, not a no D rarely passes gunner.

When Patrick Beverley is out there closing the game, there is a problem.

We still have the same problem we have had for years, lack of a true closer. I like getting the ball to Jojo at the top in that situation actually, he just bricked it. We don't have anyone else who can get off a shot like that really, Max will not be able to do that consistently.

I'd actually try Kelly in that role, but all this OG talk bothers me cause he can't do that either.

Very entertaining game, just didn't make the shots when we needed them. I have no idea how Maxey's layup stayed out, and I don't understand why Nick goes away from the offense and goes straight Embiid ISO for the final shot. He did get a very clean look on a shot he buries most of the time. Maxey just had one of those games shooting-wise, and Tobias hit a couple of clutch 3's.

On the positive side, we're now hopefully out of this silly 'tournament'. It can't be soon enough not to see those garish floors any more.
