Welcome Back RoCo!

Post#1 » by Embiid P » Tue Oct 31, 2023 8:19 am

Obviously I'm not expecting much from him at this stage of his career but if he can hit the occasional open 3, he's good for something I guess.

Shot >8 threes per 100 possessions last season at a 39.7% clip and is still +2% steal & +2% block. Top 10 in deflections this year as well. Surely some positive utility can be collected from him this season.

I don’t care if he’s “washed,” he’s our guy and I’m glad he’s back!!!

If he can be an effective player for us, even better.

Inject this into my veins.

Bow your heads to welcome our Lord Cov and all his deflections.

he's back in pog form.

I'd love nothing more than for him to come back and somehow return to form; but I suspect he's washed as **** lol.

Like him to take the Tucker role since he can actually shoot. That said, it’s just another guy who shouldn’t be allowed to put the ball on the floor. And if he does, it better be a simple pass to an open man.

I don't care if he's washed, either. Glad to have RoCo back. Definitely our guy. I'd run him with the starters until further notice, leave Oubre as the 6th man gunner.

Even if he's mostly washed, he's gotta be an upgrade on Tucker.

Become Joel's bestie and replace PJ in all manners that matter.

Yeah, playoff PJ defense was a thing, but aside from that the man was washed on a team that does not have a ton of scorers. PJ is a much better fit on the Clips, while Roco is a better fit here for the defensive style of Nurse.

Not expecting much but love the guy. Loved the vibes when he was a regular fixture in our line-up.

Always been one of my favourites.

I'd like to see him play some center when Embiid is off the floor. A change of pace with Maxey pushing it rather than waiting for Embiid to lumber up. He has the strength and defensive instincts as well as the size to match most centers in the league.

I don't expect much from him to be honest, but all he's going to be asked to do here is hit open threes, and play willing, solid defense on the other end.

Our forum has this weird thing we do where if a player is no longer in his prime we call him washed and talk about him if he shouldn't sniff playing time. I've been guilty of it. I believe Cov can still give us something even if it's 10-15 mpg.

Is this the last year of the contract he signed with the Sixers?

I got curious of he can still play. He looked ok against his recent game against the Jazz. He’s better than Tucker in taking corner 3s. He just need to stop taking those deep and quick 3s. Then defensively he’s been the same, good at deflections but just bad in staying in front of his man.

Im comfortable in starting him at the 4.

How devastated is this board going to be when he's salary in a package for some other player?
