Most frustrating thing about Tucker is that he actually shoots a good percentage. He just needs to stand there and shoot the ball when they pass it to him. It goes in enough for him to be a useful offensive player. But he just doesn't shoot it enough, so he is ignored and it ends up being 4-on-5 basketball. Kind of like when Simmons was here, but different.

Huh? He's a three point specialist who is bad at three point shooting. He's been teammates with Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and James Harden, three players who can either find shooters or draw attention away from them and Furkan still never solidified his spot as a 7th or 8th man.

Korkmaz apologists are an interesting breed. Let's look at the facts. He's played under more than one coach, along side many different teammates over six seasons and still couldn't find a spot in a league begging for three point shooters. He's a small time player mentally. It is what it is. Shake was also closer to bad than good. These guys could maybe thrive as bench players on lottery teams, but even at this stage in their careers I doubt it.

The reason the Sixers are weak in the postseason is the FO's inability to identify and draft/acquire supplemental role players who can perform above their level in high pressure situations. So they hang on to false hope of a few prospects for waaaay too long. Some Sixer fans are similar as they fall in love with November and January performances from young guys and replay that love affair in their minds for half a decade when it's the only merit on the player's resume.

I truly wonder what it is. Do you guys use Korkmaz in 2K and attribute it to reality? He's not it.

HAHAHAHAHAH! Clearly, Furkan Korkmaz lives in your head rent free    You seem really angry about this.

I'm just discussing basketball. Great retort though.

For the minimum he is a GREAT sign.

I remember when people said that Drummond was a bad sign for the minimum, and then he was the best Embiid backup.

Are we expecting him to start for us? I mean, the guy put up 20 a game in Charlotte. He's done this on bad teams though so I'm not sure what we should be expecting from him here. To me, he's a starter over PJ Tucker, but I know nothing and am simply a piece of crap fan. I don't know...Either way, this is a hell of a salvage job by Morey. A little late in the game for my nerves, but I like it. Oubre is easy to dislike if you're playing against him, but I think we're going to like what he does for us.

Starting for us doesn't mean much, we've been starting terrible players like Tucker. We are just warming up to another bust because the fanbase needs to have hope in something, but objectively he sucks and there is no hope at all.

A huge red flag for me is that he’s a notoriously streaky shooter & we are cursed. It would be a very Sixers outcome for Oubre to shoot 25% from 3 next year.

YUCK!

This season will definitely be a wash with Embiid already having one foot out the door already

Unless he buys into Nurse's system of team ball, this will be a waste of a signing and money. Don't care if it's only the minimum

If he shoots like one 3 a game, plays a team game, and only plays about 15 min a game then this will be a plus but unfortunately he strikes me as one of those players who can only play his way

I can see him being out of the rotation quickly with Melton getting those minutes. Wish we had DJJ instead. Niang will be missed

Doesn't this give them 16 contracts now? Petrusev is getting cut unless they have a trade somewhere.

Does Trez take up a roster spot despite being out for the season?

Is Green's contract guaranteed?

Yes, and no it is not according to Spotrac.

However, Petrusev only has like a 10k guarantee or something real small like that. They will cut him before they cut Danny Green.

Decent pickup considering the circumstances and how late it is into the offseason. Ideally he's a good 6th man with size to come off the bench and score but may be forced to start if Harden isn't moved and is a no-show in which case his flaws will be further magnified.

BTW I don't recall Embiid playing with another Jayhawk during his time here so maybe that counts for something.

When you lose an argument make sure to not challenge the topic at hand but instead use Dave Portnoy quips from 2016 to save face. Aren’t you over 50? Makes it even cringier.

He's kind of like a poor mans LaVine. Loser playing style with excellent tools. If Nurse can get him to buy into a role where he doesn't try to create too much, we might be able to get some juice out of him. At least he's not like LaVine and probably has had some reality injected into his brain.

I wouldn't count on that last part, Oubre is not the sharpest tool in the shed. That's always been the biggest problem with him.

Still, something is better than nothing. Hopefully between this and Nurse talking about playing Reed more and with Embiid... Tucker is glued to the bench.

I was just looking at the Hornets' roster from last year to see where Oubre was in the depth chart... wow that's a bad roster. LaMelo was hurt most of the year, so it looks like Oubre was a co-#1 option with Terry Rozier. How far did Gordon Hayward fall to only average 15pts on a team with no legitimate #1 option?

Oubre's percentages will almost certainly go up with us - on a better team and where isn't expected to be the #1 option. And where he is hopefully prohibited from trying to be the #1 option. 46 FG% and 37% 3P% aren't out of the question if he plays within the system. On the other hand, his numbers weren't much better when he started for Golden State a couple years ago.

For the first time all offseason we signed the best player available, just had to wait till pretty much no other players were available.

And hey, he’s not a center!!

*Yawn* you done yet? Hit me up in the PMs if you want to continue this. Otherwise take your nonsense somewhere else. I was partially joking about Korkmaz. You responded with insults, and then continued them. Is it really worth you getting all worked up? Like I said, hit me in the PMs and we can air out your issues. Otherwise, utilize the ignore button. BTW you're way off the age guess, but I hear your generation gets participation trophies.

People can crap on Morey on a lot of things , but he´s excelent signing decent/good players for cheap. He works well on the margins, improving incrementally the team. Since he got here he got us Danny Green ( for Horford), Maxey , Curry, Paul Reed, Niang and Melton. Besides that, he signed, for cheap minimum contracts, Bamba, Beverley, Oubre and Drumond.

I like this signing the more I think about it. I think GS was a really bad fit for Oubre who doesn’t have the IQ or temperament to play in that system. But in Philly, he can be a fast break partner for Maxey, he hit 41% on corner 3s last year, he’s a decent cutter, & has the size/athleticism to be a solid defender/rebounder.

I think Tobi is actually a good mentor to show him that buying into a role can really improve your value to the team & across the league.
