yall need to open your third eye.

Everything was a psyop to get Doc fired, and some picks back...Ben is playing the long game and is actually capable of shooting 4s now and is faking injury so he can get traded back with Bridges and we will win the next 8 chips.

We complain about Tobias contract and you want to trade him, when he's finally expiring, for a guy who has another year on his contract after this one, with an epidural on his back every season since 2021 and who played 0-42-6(so far) games the last 3 years.

Are you nuts?

To be clear I don’t want him back lol, the free throw thing and injuries have destroyed him. You can’t be a role player and have all these weird rules for building lineups around you and not being consistently available.

It's almost surreal that we've come to the point here that some long time posters are warming to the idea of a Simmons reunion.

Yeah strange. Even if you like Simmons, which is puzzling at his salary, he can't even get in the court.

Ben Simmons still is the second best teammate that Embiid ever had.. imma say compatibility Maxey first ,Simmons and Reddick 3rd. No dispute on this. Simmons and Embiid had zero compatibility issues on court and also been has no issues controlling the game without Embiid around. Obviously the best fit available.

I'd take Ben back for the right price. I think he'd be a good backup C for us. He'd probably be a better shooter than Reed if he wasn't afraid to shoot

No Maxey is better.

He is in line for all NBA 2nd team and an all star east starter.

I would take Harden and Butler over prime Simmons. I may even take Harris over the last playoff run of Simmons when he couldn't get on the court because he can't hit a free throw or be a shooting threat.

I would take a lot more guys over the current corpse of Simmons.

I mean, it's the same as people wanting Fultz back (or any former Sixer) with this fanbase. Not very surprising there's Ben stans still around even though he's a miserable fit.

Fultz, Harden, Brown - hell, even Rivers. No one has ever been as toxic and divisive as Simmons was at the end, and it's not even close.

We have a solid, winning team that for the first time in ages is fun to watch and has assets to become better, and people seriously want to entertain this guy of all people. A guy who can't even get on the damn court, who no one has a clue if he could even function on a pro basketball team? The guy who quit on the franchise and forced his way out? This is the answer that will unlock our championship dreams?

the IDEA of getting a big connective passer who rebounds and can push the break and defend the other teams best player is great on paper.

the reality less so....plus add in Ben's massive flaws and the outside factors...and yeaaaaah

The problem with Ben is he’s not a good finisher around the rim when its not a wide open attempt in halfcourt offense and he’s a liability even at the dunker spot on high pressure situations. And he needs to have the ball at most time to be a threat, that will affect our ball movement.

The reason why it “feels” like we need Ben is because we need size at the 3&4 position, this is when all the contenders are adding size and going big while we here focusing on 4 out offense like its dwight howard’s magic squad in 2009, but even that team have two 6’10-ish multi skilled forwards with Hedo and Rashard.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Simmons was already a declined player in his 4th year, like people don't even understand this, pretty much all stats were down. He was never that good, but dude basically stopped caring in his 4th year.
Watch his Playoffs trend, worse and worse every year, less PPG, much worse FT%, dude was a trainwreck. For all of Embiid's choking in Playoffs, Simmons was much, MUCH worse.
Great takes since 2024-04-20

If Simmons shot FT's consistently at 75%, even at 70%, I would slightly understand the idea of bringing a mental case like this back here, but he can't and never will be able to do that, so the whole thing is moot.

Fultz would actually make some sense to bring back.

Simmons makes below zero sense*.

*EDIT: EXCEPT if it's part of the price to get Mikal Bridges. Then you do it and send him home with his check.

With Maxeys shooting and fultz size, he actually isn’t a horrible fit. Just not sure he has the mental strength toncome back here… in fact, pretty sure he doesn’t

Fultz can't hit a three to save his life though. I'd take a flyer on him if nothing else is out there, but that's about it.
