Hopefully the Raps can't find a trade partner and don't pick up the option for Brown's contract. Because he's good, but not $23M good.

I'd prefer good fitting pieces over the "blow the whole load on a guy in his mid-30s " route, guys I like:

Trade
Bruce Brown would be a great fit - can handle but also play on the wing, has experience playing next to a high usage C

FA
Talen Horton-Tucker - good size, great A:TO as a starter in limited opportunities this year, scoring upside
Naji Marshall - versatile F who can do some things offensively and defensively
Kyle Anderson - versatile F who can add ballhandling and some D
Royce O'Neale - 3&D

Filling out the roster with these type of guys allows for the flexibility to bring back guys they may like from this year - Oubre, Batum, Payne, Melton

They had a period last season after the Clippers trade where they looked great with depth and interchangeable pieces between Maxey and Embiid. This strategy would also give them contracts that could be aggregated and sent with picks if the right opportunity presented itself

The Raptors apparently will pick up Bruce Brown's option and try to trade him. So unless you want to give up picks, you can probably scratch him off the free agent list that will undoubtedly grow even smaller as the weeks progress and other players get re-signed or have options picked up.

Not in trade. Only if he gets released and becomes a FA. It would be stupid as hell to trade assets for the right to pay him $23m next year.

We could do a lot worse than Goga for vet min. He might be the most realistic / cost-effective option for backup C.

Was listening to the PHLY sixers pod, and Kyle Neubek off handedly said that Bodner thinks we're getting Jimmy.

It'll probably be him or PG. I know they're the chalk names, but PG, Butler, Ingram seem to be the most likely. And Ingram feels less of a Morey move than the other two.

I heard that too and Bodner isn't one to get too caught up in rumors. Made me wonder if he's heard things or just his feeling based on what the landscape is out there (which I currently don't feel that way).

Jimmy Butler (Darkest Timeline) Offseason

1. Trade #16 and 2026 OKC/HOU 1st for Butler
2. Use remaining cap space (~$15 mil) to sign Jalen Smith/Kyle Anderson and De'Anthony Melton
3. Use room exception to sign Kelly Oubre
4. Sign Cam Payne, Kyle Lowry, Nico Batum, Dario Saric, Robert Covington, and Andre Drummond with vet mins

Maxey/Payne/Lowry
Melton/Oubre/(project)
Butler/Batum/Council
Smith/Saric/Covington
Embiid/Drummond/(project)
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:

Lowry/Payne/Downtin
Maxey/Melton/Hield
Oubre/Batum/Council
Harris/Covington/Martin
Embiid/Reed/Bamba

I only watch the youtube clips, is he that bad? Those are usually Kyle and Derek talking. I assume you're talking about the Devon guy since we all kinda know/knew Derek and no one hates Kyle.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Getting Jimmy is probably my favorite potential outcome of this off-season. Lebron would be better since he costs you nothing and is a little bit better, but I don't really want the circus.

It's just really easy to build out rotations with those 3 guys. They fit well together, but can also carry lineups apart. Put as much defense and spot up shooting as you can with them and go to war.

Devon Givens does a great show on 97.5. If I recall correctly; he's related to Mikal Bridges. Surprised to hear he's not doing well on the podcast.

What about Wendell Carter Jr.? Would be a hard nosed 4 who can step out beyond the arc, good rebounder, strong, and also play back-up 5 better than what we trotted out this year.

Orlando has a logjam of bigs and WCJ struggled to get his playing time back after returning from injury competing with Goga, Mo Wagner, Banchero, etc. Also damn is that contract friendly. Still only 24 as well.
