I'm going to hold off on sighing the official hate petition, however if someone wouldnt mind coming up with the "ok, now i have jumped ship and am no longer defending Otis and honestly have no idea what the hell he is doing" petition, i'll sign that one...

To be honest, he did get us the best FA available this summer, he did trade Ariza who couldn't get minutes here for Cook and Evans who is now a starter and he did hire SvG.

The problem is that he just let the opportunity of making a "final" move to build a really good (near contention) team because he was afraid of letting JJ Redick pack with 13 millions on expirings. That is just plain absurd.

I considered getting Rashard as part of trading Steve Francis. Anyone would've known to go after Rashard. Evans turned out to be better than we expected, but at the time we could've gotten better.

That's what I've been saying my opinion is right now. I lost the faith on him having a clear idea of how build the team from now on.

Really don't want any of those ... expect perhaps Doleac.

i am not saying be grateful just being realistic. a trade for wilcox or haslem would have helped but it would hardly make a difference in the outcome of this season or next or ever.

JO: Hurt too often

JK: too expensive (20 mill I think)

Well yea, but we would only need JO for the playoffs. Imagine Dwight, Rashard, Turkoglu, and JO. Kidd, I didn't really want, but considering we just got absolutely nothing for our expirings and that Jameer can't guard Pargo, I would've liked us to go after at least one above average to allstar player.

Who wouldnt be able to sign a border line all star to a max contract???

John Weisbrod and John Gabrial couldve done that with ease.

And Evans is not a starter on any other playoff team.

Just thought i would mention

I hate Otis as a GM and I have always hated him as a GM. Its funny that a few weeks ago people were telling me to ease off him. Now those same people are starting to lose faith in him. For every good move he has made, he has made an equally or worse one.

I just can't believe we couldn't upgrade at all with those expirings. I'm not talking about anything major, but c'mon.

Looks like maybe a 1st round win and then time to go fishing come playoff time.

agreed...Evans is mos def not a started on any other team. Neither is Bogan (when he did start) or Nelson.

I don't hate him. I just happen to start thinking that I might have been too optimistic about him.

That's a nice way to put it, right? 13 millions (+/-) on expirings out of the window and a stubborn reluctance in letting some pieces that are not important on the roster go... nice, really nice!

Same for me

I don't feel like getting into this too much, but how can we really say anything about this? How do we know what was on the table for Smith? It's not like we had such great assets. It's all speculation from our part, mixed with seeing how the Lakers got Gasol from West.. I guess there really wasn't anything good on the table.

Edit: Yes I am a bit dissapointed that we didn't do anything. Also for people calling we won't make it to the second round, we can do it with the current team also.

It may be a wasted opportunity, but we don't know if there was a good opportunity..

BREAKING NEWS: Otis made a trade .... Uh the bad news it he made the trade with Dave Twardzik. Apparently we sent Arroyo Garrity and Dooling to Orlando for a second round pick.

we dont know...but we do know that there were deals...i know for a fact that the Blazers were talking to the Magic...and i bet it included Jack/Frye...but i digress here...we cannot bash him for things we dont know...so people will say "why didnt you get Wilcox you moron" when they dont have any idea how serious a Wilcox trade was, or even if Wilcox was ever being shopped...as long as you have Ford's/Buchers/SAS/Vecey's you're going to hear a ton of B/S....

however, we are rich in expirings and teams, especially this year were looking...we had a chance to add at least one rotation piece for a few expirings and we blew it...Otis...Otis...Otis...

You have to much faith in Otis buddy...Hope you like the 1st round of the playoffs for the next 5 years

And at the end of it a very unhappy Dwight Howard.

Dwight Howard, LA.

LA, Dwight Howard.

A place where you can get unlimited attention and endorsements

The owner and GM actually care about the fans and want to put a championship product on the floor.

Yes. The autographing of the sneakers during the "dunk" contest confirmed it.

man too many kids on here bashing otis, just because he didnt jump on the first offer around? anyone think maybe there wasnt a good enough deal to be made? anyone think maybe jj may be better than we all think and otis is planning on playing him next year after our expirings are gone? yes we have expiring contracts, yes garrity is a waste of space but if there isnt a good enough offer out there then dont take it

and you can all bash otis but the worst thing i think he did was let darko walk, but look at what darko is doing now....nothing! hes no better than he was, so not paying him the 8-10 mil a year like he wanted was a smart move....he traded ariza for cook and evans, now ariza is benched with an injury (that he had in orlando) and evans is basically starting and cook has some good games too. he signed shard to an overpaid contract, but with shard here we are a better team than last year, not worth the money but we are doing better, all you otis haters need to wake up and really look at this and stop crying because we didnt pull off some worthless trade
