Didn't look comfortable all year, obviously all of it wasn't his hand but probably a big mental block there. Even in return, his hand looked swollen.

They might want to invest in a big man this summer in some way.

Wouldn't mind either, especially as investment. But draft would have to be emergency or for next year. We're not gonna start playing three young guys big minutes this year on top of the others and expect not to take a step back lol.

That's unfortunate. Unfortunate for his trade value

Respect for him playing through it.

Hopefully he heals 100% and regains his confidence.

I didn’t think this was the time to trade him and seems highly unlikely now.

Curious if they are going to announce Fultz’s prognosis.

He's a very good player and, perhaps, ORL's best win-now trade chip...I guess it's Free Agency or bust this summer.

I never wanted to get rid of him...but he's certainly the most obvious avenue to trading towards a guard upgrade. A team like POR might still be in play for pick(s) and primarily cap relief...but hard to imagine ATL would have enough interest to put together a two-team trade for Murray without WCJ as a primary piece.

The next Fultz headline will be in Chinese.

Before you rush to trade WCJ try to consider a salary cap when you can`t afford to pay every starter 20M+
WCJ has a laxury contract for his value. Basicly his is at MLE level money. Center in todays game is not only about the sexy boxscores its much about ability to set screens, team defense and shooting range. I don`t see WCJ going anywhere anytime soon.

I find these headlines sort of odd.

A lot of players typically get surgery when the season ends except most of them go unreported or overlooked.

I do understand his injury history. But you would think given it's a non shooting hand that it might be unreported.

And-1

Look, if we fans were given a "guarantee" that Carter would play 70+ games next season, he has so much value at his salary line, he would be untradable. The only problem for Orlando trading Carter is that the least number of games he has missed in a season is 20.
Which is the reason the Magic would not get great value for him.

In conclusion: bank on Carter being in Magic blue on opening night.

I’m more than ok with that, if we find other ways to address our backcourt shortcomings. We can draft a bruiser to develop, as well as supplement his minutes with Isaac and Mo…maybe even some Paolo Point Center minutes.

A lingering injury would certainly explain Wendell's relatively down season.

I'm also wondering if WePark are as interested in upgrading the starting center position this offseason as many of us here on the board seem to be. Specifically with Hartenstein and Claxton; you could MAYBE squeeze one of them in AND sign like a Monk, but that's gonna be tight with our cap space, I think. I also think the front office may very well feel fine to move forward WCJ for now, and maybe draft a developmental center if that's how the board falls. Though signing an expensive center would make Wendell a good trade chip for now or later, especially if we can polish up his trade value a bit.

Wendell at his best is still a great asset on his current contract, especially if the volume of his 3's keeps rising. He doesn't protect the rim as well as I'd like him to, but it's hard to deny the combination of decent to good shooting, athleticism, rebounding and ball skills.

My read of the tea leaves is that they are interested in Claxton. The WCJ trade smoke before the all-star break was a tell I think.

I felt the hand had bothered him all year. This make more sense why he had a bad year. Hopefully he can heal up and continue to get better for us.

Sure they can. The article says he's only going to be out of basketball related activities for 4 weeks.
