Actually, might ramp up conversations about who would become expendable...for example, if DET chooses another on-ball guy would they unload Ivey. If they choose a Center, could we grab Duren?

etc

Just now looking at mocks...what a scramble! I don't remember it ever being THIS unclear from mock to mock...could be good for #18 if it's basically a crapshoot

Yeah, it's a 3pm (9pm for me, then). I don't think I have time to watch it live, but I wish those teams the best on the most important day of their season. Okay, maybe with this crummy draft class, it isn't, this year.

If the Raptors lose their pick I'm definitely having a peek at their board, though. But in the tankathon spins I took this year they always seemed to keep their pick.

Jalen Duren would only be available if we possibly include Franz in the deal, then I would think about including their lottery pick as well.

We could possibly get Sheppard and Duren for the Franz and Mo.

Duren is intriguing, but imo, nowhere approaching the value of Franz...or even Suggs. He's still a raw block of granite - which might be great for Mose to shape into the defensive nightmare of a Center we could use.

Word on the DET board is that he's not even a very good defender yet...but he finishes around the rim and collects rebounds. Big, strong, athletic kid...but still raw.

Damn, another #1 pick to our division. Oh well, it could use some beefing up after how putrid the Southeast was this year, let's be real.

I'm figuring one of Risacher or Sarr is a fit for the Hawks.

Raps lost their pick  but their wiser fans will know this is probably for the best in the long-term, get it out of the way in this draft. It'll be interesting to see what the Spurs can do with 4 and 8. For the balance of the league it's probably good some of the top guys are off the board, since Wemby is gonna be scary as hell real soon. Washington at number 2 is fine with me, those poor fans need all the help they can get at this point. Also I'm glad to see that the East got the top few picks for once, but there's still some east/west balance in how the picks went with the top 4 splitting (after the Nets/Rockets trade).

It will be fun to do work on a proper mock draft later, now that the order is known.

Atlanta could pass us next season.

The salary for the #1 pick starts at $12m and would put them $3m over the tax threshold next season.

This is why tanking doesn't work
Draft Carter
Sign monk
Trade Cole for a forward
Let chuma+fultz go
Offer Harris and goga a 1+1 deal

unleash Jett next seaon

Go Magic

Suggs, AB, Carter
Monk, Jett, Harris
Franz, Jett, Houstan
Paolo, Moe, (Cole trade)
Wcj, JI, goga

Tristan da Silva would be the easiest decision if he's there at 18.

It's probably just the best way they knew to put it, since they know we're trading it for cash considerations.

For real though, good looking out. I have no idea and a quick google search didn't yield anything, either. Previous second round pick forfeitures were usually related to tampering. But who the hell would we even have tampered with? Joe Ingles?

Hopefully, we're doing some tampering right now.

I havent paid much attention to this draft, (I love it)

But after doing some light research, my early pick is Carlton Carrington. However Im worried he will even be there at 19. I see him mocked around there, but he seems like he could be a riser.

I also not sure we will take another guard after taking AB and Jett last year.

I think I'd like a rim protector to draft and stash in the G-League.
