Of Obi, RJ, IQ, Grimes and Deuce, only Deuce remains (also Sims). We need to stock the pipeline again.

We've probably plucked all the low hanging fruit - undervalued guys who can be had in trade or FA (Novas, OG, Ihart, etc.; Can Shamet play? Will we ever find out?) and with the INJURY APOCALYPSE there's no guarantee that even IF we get a good star in trade they'll make it all the way through the Playoffs (see Embid, Giannis) unscathed.

They traded Obi, Quick, Grimes & RJ in the last 12 months and I'd guess they're going to try to move Bogs this off-season, so the Roster is pretty open.

Try to get I-Hart back - 2 centers
Randall & Precious - 2 PFs
OG - SF
Donte - SG
Brunson - PG

J-Hart - 6th man
McBride - 7th man.

That's the 8 player rotation, occasionally 9 if the play Precious, but mostly 8 and I could see carrying 2 rookies to go with that.

They could also pull off a trade, so who knows where it'll end up.

We got three swings at it, potentially... 24, 25, 38 I believe... the best teams always find gems that become starters or solid bench players in the lower end of the draft. Would be nice to hit on one or two of those picks... another McBride or Mitch Robinson please....

With Leon's team's skill at late drafting odds are we can find one of three (at minimum) who while not immediate stars become key core players inside 3 years (either for us, or some other team -- via trade for someone we really need at any specific position/skill - so we win either way).

Ideally we’ll be able to get a stretch big and 6th man wing scorer out of this draft.

Mitch is out. Again. Not his fault but can't stay on the court. Sims seems not to be the answer for Thibs. So we are drafting a center if a good one is available.

Yes it was. History is rhyming like when they got KG and Pierce and that pick became Dame.

This draft was also not good to the Raptors who fell to 8 and no longer have their pick.

Whoever they get is likely going to the G League, but I don’t see them not trading out or trading down. Thibs doesn’t play rookies unless they can show they deserve minutes and I can’t see a rookie getting minutes over any of those players.

Poor Pistons but it's a lesson to the tankers out there that it's always a 86% chance you don't get that top pick and in a crazy world you slide 5 spots down.

Tristan da Silva. I really like the way he moves off the ball. Can bomb from deep with ease. Very comfortable with the ball in his hands to attack a close out or work the PnR to get a good shot from anywhere. Willing passer. Good defender.

Not an amazing athlete otherwise I think he’d be a lock for the lottery in this weak draft class. Won’t be surprised if he ends up on the Spurs somehow

I do feel bad for them but tanking is just a horrible idea after NBA revised the percentages. But lets look at how Detroit drafted the past 10 years...

2023 - Ausar Thompson (5)
2022 - Jaden Ivey (5)
2021 - Cade Cunningham (1)
2020 - Killian Hayes (7)
2019 - Sekou Doumbouya (15)
2018 - None
2017 - Luke Kennard (12)
2016 - Henry Ellenson (18)
2015 - Stanley Johnson (8)
2014 - None

One of the worst drafts in the last 10 years. This sh.it is fcking horrible.

And for us. That first round pick they owe us is going to turn into a pumpkin. Bet the same happens with the Wizards pick.

A few of them are guys the tankers desperately wanted us to get. Detroit pretty much picked the best available player and they still suck

I genuinely have no idea why Spencer and Karaban are higher on draft boards than Triston Newton.

Newton can play elite defense and hit the open 3. ft% suggests he will continue to improve from deep. He has a lot of Deuce in his game.

Ya I don’t get it either, watch he goes to a playoff team and makes the league look dumb and we know it’s not gonna be the Knicks. Karaban might stay another year will wait right till the deadline.
